That is a great looking truck! Just curious, what type of problems are you having with the truck and the lift?

Hey Tim. Do you still have the Avy? What is the lift/tire set up on it? I am looking to put a 4" Rancho lift with the biggest tire that I can fit without major cutting. What's your opinion on this? Thanks.

I have a 4 inch rancho lift on my H2 and run 39.5/12.50R20 Super Swamper Irocs and they are pretty much at the max without any major rubbing.

The H2 has substantially more room than the Avalanche. I don't think you could fit 39's under it without a 12" lift.

AV is long gone. That truck went from a Fabtec lift with 35's on 18's and rubbed quite a bit/hanlded like $hit. ended up with a Rancho kit and 33's. Sold it 2 weeks later. Teh Rancho kit handled great...wasn;t big enough for what I wanted. If you plan to run 35's on the Rancho kit, plan to add a leveling kit on top and a 1 1/2" rear spacer to fit the 35's. It had been done to Tahoe and guy seems to like it from what I;ve read...no experience with that myself though....just the Rancho kit and 33's.

If you want to lift an AV/ put a Superlift 6" on it and run 35's on 18's or 20's. I did get to ride in a Superlifted Burban with 35" BFG MT's (the old MT) and it road great!!! Plan on putting bags on the rear if you plan to tow or haul...The Rancho, fabtech and Superlift all have a softer spring rate than need IMO. But ride great due to that.

Thanks Tim. It looks like the 4" Rancho with a 33" tire on a 17 or 18" wheel might be the way to go for me. Not a lot of off roading here on Long Island. just looking to get off the ground a little. Mostly beach riding. Thanks for the input.

If that's all your looking for is an aggressive stance and to run 33's....

Put the truxx front and rear kit on. 2.5" front lift and 1.5" rear. rides just like stock. ...currently running that setup on my other half's 07 Tahoe.
runnign 33" BFG AT's on 17 x 9 Hoss wheels. The install is doable in your garage if you have some jack stands OR have someone with a lift spend a coupel hours in the installation. The front end alignment requires knockouts...as it does with the Rancho kit also.

You could even go to a 34" tire with a small ammount of inner fender well plastic trim. or 2" body lift on top of that and 35's fit no problem. Teh Thaoe forum showed a Z71 tahoe with that setup...looked nice.

That sound like a great idea. Saves a bunch of cash too. Do you have any pics of the Tahoe?
