The marker light looks purple in the last pic. Is that an illusion due to the flash?

Not sure of the legality... I figures I would try the "it came like that" routine if I was ever pulled over!

Whats going to happen if he gets in an accident and his insurance company wont pay up, becuase he blacked out his lights.Plus this is a huge safety issue for you and your family.Just some thoughts.

The brakes are clearly visable even during the daytime guys. I have seen hundreds of cars ad trucks even darker than this here in AZ. And I have no family so that is not an issue...

Ok guys, these first pictures in the garage at night may not be that great, but here goes.
Any tip on how to remove the tail lights? I have removed two screws but there's still something holding back?

Some states will ticket you, and my legal side of the brain makes me worry about liability if someone hit me, and went so far as to prove the light output were not up to Federal standards. But they do look good.

H3 buyer to be, give me an update on the tailights. Did you spray the inside or the outside of the lense? If it's the outside, does it seem to scratch off?

It's hard to tell from the pictures but what kind of finish is this? Glossy? Semi? and also how easy to get scratched. I remenber tinting my Vw windows by spraying liquid tint but that would get scratched pretty easy. Regarding getting a citation from the "MAN"...here in California they'll give a ticket for any light modification such as: blacking out with tape or spray, blue light bulbs, red bulbs. Liability, don't worry about rear end collisions with that big tire hanging on the back, they will bounce out as fast as they came in...My overall opinion, perform any modification that your heart desire...it's only a fix-a-ticket, just make sure you can remove this tint when you go to sign off your citation...good luck..good job.

Yeah I'm still waiting on this for 3 reasons:
A) The legallities... I drive mostly in Beverly Hills where the police is so bored that 3 police cars will pull one car over for the stupidest things, and my exhaust already draws enough attention.
B) My parent's are giving me that whole "don't waste any more money on your car" story.
C) I would love an aftermarket light (like this: tail lights) which would give an original look while also being legal... what you guys think?
