The latest Jeep, which has midsize SUV proportions, is designed to butt heads with the 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser and the 2006 Hummer H3.
Chrysler insiders tell Inside Line the Wrangler Unlimited will start at around $21,000.
The Unlimited will be offered in either two- or four-wheel drive and comes in three configurations: Wrangler Unlimited X, Sahara and Rubicon. Four-wheel-drive Unlimited X and Sahara models feature Command-Trac NV241, a part-time, two-speed transfer case. A Trak-Lok limited-slip rear differential is optional. Rubicon models feature an off-road Rock-Trak NV241 two-speed transfer case as well as electric front- and rear-axle lockers and 32-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires.
I drive by the Jeep plant every day on my way to work (I work in Toledo).
If the broom fits, fly it!
