I'm with Dug. Go first with some polishing compound, then a less abrasive cleaner wax, then a couple of nice coats of carnuba and she'll be awesome.
Seriously, nice work. I would NEVER tackle something like that.....Good luck and keep the pics coming!

Hey very cool project.
A couple of real good places to pick up surplus parts is myhumvee.com amd Jeep acres
I agree more pictures please.
Do you care to share what kind of deal you made on your new toy?
The only hard thing about driving a H1... It is hard to do without having a smile on your face. It is real fun and some times challenging in mechanicle skills department. I can tell you aint skeerd though.

I just finished an identical repair on the passenger side. I bought a cut-off front suspension and a new frame rail. Kascar has the floor pan and foot well area. Jeep acres has the A pillar under the windshield. I have the huge rivets (had to buy 400), everything else is rather common. Also have an extra military hood, slightly damaged.

Good work. At the rate your going she'll be back on the street (hopefully the trails) in no time. Too bad your not closer to me, I'd deffinetly offer to give you a hand, not that you seem to need it.

What did you pay for the H1 in that condition and what do you will think you will have in her when compleated w/o the rim expense.
