Yeah what he said. Has anyone used it on the toneau cover.
Do you need to clean with anything specific prior to application?

I dont have any of those black parts on my rig, but it looks to me like its just dirty. If all of the texture was faded, i'd try one of those products.. But the raised parts of the texture are black, and the recessed parts are whitish - possibly holding dirt/water stains/wax. Anyone try just scrubbing w/ a stiff bristle brush and some dish soap?

It will be close. But you should be alright. If not buy another one. It can't hurt!

I have used black again for past 4 months or so. It doesnt hold up that long. It will wash off after a few rains and washes. It looks great after applied and will last a decent time unless it rains pretty hard. My H2 stays outside 24/7 also. I would bet it would last longer if your garage yours. I my try the Griots stuff next.

I gotta tell you the Griot's Garage stuff still looks just as good as the day I put it on. It has not faded at all. My truck sits outside 24/7 as it no longer fits in the garage (37's+Lift+Roof Rack+ roof mounted spare=8'6") . The only wear it has is on top from me walking all over the bumper when climbing up to the roof rack. This is to be understood though as I am usually walking on it with muddy boots while offoad to get straps out of my roof mounted storage etc....

Just a little touch up will solve the problem. The front bumper looks great.

The white chalky stuff you see in the crevases is a compination of sun damage and wax debrise from washing. Even if you scrub your bumper it will still be faded and chalky when you are done. I whiped everything down with paint thinner beforehand to be sure it was 100% clean before I applied the Griots Garage Die.

This stuff is legit! Like I said before take your "Back to Black" and thow it in the trash.

Did you protect the body (painted parts) when you applied this. On my white truck I notice a little yellowing under the black trim. I suspect this could be from using a silcone product to bring the black back.

It does not stick to paint very well at all. You can wipe it right off of your paint with rubbing alcohol after it dries.

I agree with HumminBoatin, I've used it only once like 3 months ago and its as black as it was the first day as well.... pretty good stuff! Best investment yet.

Default Griot's Bumper & Trim Reconditioner-$12.99 FREE SHIPPING

I thought everyone who's interested in buying this product should consider buying this bottle from this website vs. buying directly through Griot's....
Griot's charges $6.50 for shipping when this site offers free shipping PLUS they give you a bonus product of Griot's for free.
So, all you pay is for $12.99!

www.autoanything.com

Free Griot's Speed Shine

I just ordered mine- paid by Paypal too!

This stuff is the real deal. I used it on my SUT hard cover and it did a beautiful job and has lasted months and is showing no fading.

X a GAZZILLION!!

I tried "Back to Black" which turned "Right to White" after about 3 washes. Then I read this post by HumminNBoatin and bought the Griot's Garage stuff and it worked great! It's been since Memorial Day ... through a lot of washing and even a Wheeling Trip to RC! It still looks like new and didn't fade at all!
This stuff get's High Scores! I loave it!!
Thanks HumminNBoatin!

I just put two coats on my rear bumper and what a difference. I'm doing all the black on my truck!

Here's a tip.... -- cut the very top of the bottle off and use a sponges style paint brush to apply. It is so much quicker this way!

When you're done, just grab a spice jar from the back of the cabinet to store what's left.

I bought 3 bottles, and after 2 heavy coats I didn't even use 1/4 of the bottle.

Here's some before and after pics...

Did my bumpers, body trim and door handles over the weekend. This stuff is amazing, but they all look amazing at first. Keeping my fingers crossed for similar results to other here down the road. If this is something that only needed to be done a couple times a year that would be a Godsend.

I didn't do the SUT cover as I'm planning to have that sucker Rhino lined after the hail damage I sustained.
