Re: Time for New Brake pads
Thank F5 and parts guy....f-off Sewie and Neo
BTW, they offerd me a loaner today...seems as if there MAY be some tranny trouble.
I was telling Sewie when I was following him down a steep muddy incline in Hollister I had it in 1st/low, the truck seemed like it was coasting. When I stopped and put it into second the engine braking returned....so....tranny time?
Makes me wanna :blech:

The symptoms started at 49K, I have the GMPP, but so far they haven't said yet whether or not they will cover it......but they did offer a loaner, could be a goodwill thing...could be a "feel sorry for her" thing.
I will probably hear tomorrow when I go pick up my loaner.
I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight.

Say hello to a new "overrun" clutch. If it slips in manual first gear, that is the component I would say is failing. Could be first clutch housing, but that manual first slipping?????
It should be covered under the extended warranty, and if you didn't have an extended warranty, with enough barking, GM/Hummer might cover most of it or all of it; especially since you have maintenance stuff done at the dealer. (It does pay at times to pay the dealer for customer pay items.)

Easy repair, a lot easier than an overrun clutch, which requires trans R&R, then disassembly. The valvebody is removed by simply removing the oil pan and quite a few bolts.
Not there, so not sure, but is it the complete valvebody or some of the internal valves, that are replaceable?
Strange an entire valvebody goes. Oh well, important it gets fixed.

Re: Time for New Brake pads
Yep! It should be ready.
I have to tell you, I walked into the shop last night to get my cell charger out of my truck...I have NO IDEA how those guys work in those conditions. It was 104 here yesterday and that shop could not have been much cooler.
Just awful.
