Default Re: Trailer Hitch Bike Racks???

I have a 37x13.5 toyo on my rear tire carrier. What size extension should I purchase in order to use the bike rack? Are all extensions the same? I have seen some on ebay..

Thanks

I would think any auto supply store that sells towing supplies would have one. It should be the same class as the hitch on your H2. One thing I found out was by leaving the extension on the rack, makes for a very heavy rack to take off! The extension must weigh 25 pounds. I started leaving the extension (12") on the rig which actually works out very well. It sticks out even with the tire. Now if someone gets too close to me, instead of hitting my tire cover, they get 2" of steel through their grill.

I use they FRONT hitch extension sold by Hummer dealerships to mount my REAR bicylce carrier from the rear hitch receiver. It clears the tire for carrying, but does NOT allow for enough clearance to swing the tire carrier, even when bicycle rack folded down. Overall, excellent set up for carrying bicycles.
