Being European my H2 music selection is less likeley to be well known over on your side of the pond:

Jamiroquai - Synkronised

Jamiroquai - Travelling Without Moving

Jamiroquai - A Funk Odyssey

If you havent heard of Jamiroquai yet - just wait - you will !

After that it's a pretty wide and varied mixture of:

Ludacris
Coldplay
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Jimi Hendrix
Dance/Trance/House
The Darkness

Yeah pretty ecclectic.

Thats a varied taste in music. I also like all kinds of music and I play somethig that matches my mood at the time. Lately whatever MP3 I can steal. Well the music comp. considers it stealing.

Always been partial to old AC/DC, Ozzy or Sabbath...Crazy train live sounds excellent, but the newer stuff is played on radio alot. Alice in Chains - Man in a Box...AudioSlave - Show me how to live & Like a Stone (radio overplayed). STP, Soundgarden and such are played on the radio alot.

But when I click over to older stuff, The Doors L.A. Woman (CD) gets some airtime too. EVERYTHING by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Pink Floyd. Kiss Destroyer and Creatures albums are gonna get some road trip time soon. I have many compilations with classics I like.

Most of my music selection is from 1975-90 time period, and depends on the mood. Even the harder stuff like Metallica (bums), Rage Against the Machine, White Zombie, or Pantera can be heard at times, if I am in the mood.

Tobey Keith or Dwight Yoakam are about the only country I have played in the truck, but I mostly make compilations of a few songs I like for what I take on the road. You could find some old stuff as I am not a big fan of new country, although the wife is partial to Shania Twain. There will be Blugrass played at some point, perhaps the next time I visit the hills of TN & KY.

I make sure to bring along some Rodney Carrington, Kinison, and a Bob & Tom CD or two. Always pack along a CD of kids songs or some Classical music for sleep time. Various musical tastes, but all depends on the moment (collection always exceeds the amount of space allowed in the cd player or the console).

Soundgarden, Rage against the Machine, audioslave, NERD, third eye blind, and Saves the day. Not a huge mettalica fan, after that whole napster crap I don't listen to their stuff. I have no respect for them at all.

Chris,

Anyone who has ever been to a Metallica concert knows they encouraged bootlegging of the shows by audio or video tape. One tour they had a special section for bootleggers. They are hypocrites about the Napster thing, but since their stuff has been downhill since Justice, they get alot less play than they used to by me.

Alec, top 3 of my list are all English bands. The other dead fellows are all sort of German. The only music that brings tears to my eyes and soul is the classical music. My favorite radio music is techno dance music, which for unknown reasons is the most popular music in Europe or the only MTV music on TV in Europe.

Age may not matter for appreciation of classical music. If one does not enjoy them when young, one will not enjoy them when old, that is almost guanranteed. I did since I was a kid, my wife was forced to learn piano when young, as with many young children nowadays, from where I sit, I see 80% of kids have to learn piano or violin with miserable weekly lessons.

and THIS is exactly why I cut my own custom mix of songs, burn them to a bunch of CD's and hand them out at events.

We all start the music at the same time: when someone keys up the mic, you can hear the same song playing in the background....very cool!!!!

My last CD was the SlitherFest Desert Mix

I'm going to have to run with some beach boys on the pismo thing, but I'll try to dial-in some hard stuff down the line. It'll likely be up to me and Alec to make something happen worthy of video hard-music.

Any southern blues, BB King, Muddy Waters, Jon McVeigh and the Stumble, Lonleyland, and Erin "Ice Water" Jones and the Bad Habits, SRV of course, but a lot of Jimmy Vaughn nowadays. Tons of Willie Nelson, especially acoustic and live albums, and for when I feel heavier, then it's the Stones, the Doors, Zepplin and Metallica up to and including the black album, but nothing after that.

Like MAC, I also have the Bach compilations CD, and the Boston Pops. My musical taste is spread out all over the place. About the only thing that I won't listen to is modern "gangsta rap". Don't get me wrong, old school Run DMC and Dr. Dre (The Chronic) are great, but I draw the line at some of this late 90s early 00s rap. I mean really, there's a song called "Move, b*tch, get out the way!". Do people really listen to that?

Just another confused old timer......

Drag Racer,

Like you, my music is all over the place.

And "gangsta rap" is another word for "throbbing head ache". I especially hate it when they're behind/beside me at reds in their Honda civic bling blings. Man, what a step back for music.

Out of everyone here my tastes are most similar to Dan's. Hey Dan, have you heard Black Label Society? 1919 Eternal will be the first CD played in my Hummer.
