I totally agree Bender, I traded in my 03 Z06 Corvette when I bought my H3 and some people with small penis seem to think they need to be top dawg red light to red light.

Horsepower isn't just about the ability to race away from stop lights or make up for a "small penis". Horsepower helps move you past a slow semi-trailer up a 6-percent grade. Horsepower allows you to carry family, luggage, and a dog up winding hilly roads to Grandma's house and keep the air conditioning on.

Maybe you guys live in flat parts of the country, but around where I live and travel, there are lots of hills and long streches of highway are 6-percent grade. Like I said, I'm not asking for a high-powered H3, I just want something to keep up with traffic; Something with just average acceleration would be fine, as long as it has a giant sunroof like an H3, and the great interior of the H3. Hopefully, the 3.7L will be that.

6 percent grade isn't that much compared to the 60 percent grade it can handle...

No, I saw them, some of the numbers reflect old model years and the smallest engine options. The H3 is coming into a world of Hemi-powered Jeeps, 265HP 6-spd Xterras...the new Toyota FJ Cruiser even has 6-speeds (7 if you count reverse, ha-ha) and 245HP.

For its price and class, nothing will beat an H3 off-road, but unless you live in a remote survivalist compound, most of your driving is on-road, so good on-road performance is important, at least to me.

I love nearly everything about the H3, my only beef with it is the engine power.

I just got back from a trip to Breckenridge CO. I took the H3 up and back with no issues of power. Yes you have to floor it to keep above 70 in a few spots, but that's no different than my SUT. I think that another 60HP would be about perfect; and I think you can get closer to that by adding exhaust, air intake, and power programmer. Getting into traffic isn't an issue, but does take some getting used to.

The data was taken over the past 3 years. Some were smaller engines some weren't - I just took the data that was available. I wanted to address my fellow magazine writers' attack on the H3's power.

A new intake, new exhaust, and programming will take you to 250-260 HP. I heard that LS2 edit includes the H3 - I haven't verified this yet. If you know what you are doing you can optimize 87 octane tuning for torque and power as well as get better fuel econony (and lower emissions). The tranny shift points and line pressure could you some tweaking too.

The issue with a new air box is that the MAF is integrated with the stock box. This leaves only a filter and lid as an economical air box mod.

I write for my nic and I plan on doing some product testing on the H3. I'm starting to get some parts to test now.
