I got to looking at fuel injector cleaning chemical and found many had acetone in it. Most likely very little but it must clean up the fuel system. It was last week and do not remember which one I read. I was looking at all of them and just forgot.

We'll,

Time to refill with gas and start over, today mix was 3oz to 10 gal, and mileage dropped to 10.7mpg on the interstate doing 75mph. It was 49 and rainy. Off the interstate doing 55 mileage jumped to 15.7 mpg.
I think the loss in mpg was the Ganatelli. Tomorrow I am going to dilute the mix, we have only used 10gal and run her there and see what happens. Before these mods running the interstate our H2 got between 13 and 14.7 at
75 mph. This is with just the Airaid cold air system with the Airaid tube. I am going to back off on the Acetone, the web site I looked at recommended 4oz per 10 gallon that is what we used in the TJ and she jumped from 15.5 to 19.6 the first test day out. One thing I cannot get away from is Ethanol 10% in the fuel up here.

OK,

Filled up today for the return trip, fillup took 11 gal even, with too much Acetone in there this ammount should have dropped the vehicle down to about 2oz per 10 gal. At 75 mph we were getting 13mpg today with a small headwind. At 65 mph truck jumped to 15.5 mpg at 55 mph the H2 was getting 16.5 mpg. There is a overpass that the H2 always kicksdown and hits the throttle, well today she just went right over them without the kick in the pants, I did hear the transmission start to wind up then it just returned to normal without the engine kicking up. So far I am happy, but time will tell, I add everything to my spreadsheets and see what the overall mpg averages.

Hi,
First off I am a new member here and we just started tesing this in our 02 TJ and our 05 H2. On the TJ our first day out this week with 4oz to 10 gal the mpg jumped from 15.5 to 19.6. But with the Hummer it was a windy day Saturday 26-40 mph and it still got 11.5 mpg. We are going 200 miles the next couple of days in the Hummer and I am going to drop it to 2 oz to 10 gal and retest it. We will keep you posted. Of course our Hummer does not even have 5000 miles on it so it's still getting broke in.

The report states that too much will drop mileage, I would start at 2oz per 10 gallons...

Thanks KenP,

I've been lurking for a few months and decided to join tonight for a question I had over in the Tech section. I am making a couple changes at a time trying to get a couple of mpg's out of the H2 and the TJ.

[edit]Cost Savings Summary
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...ne/message/126

We run a ratio of 1:320 acetone to gasoline (4 oz per 10 gal). This creates a 10% increase in MPG (conservatively) which translates to a 10% savings in fuel.

Therefore, for every gallon of acetone you run through your car, you save 32 gallons of fuel (10% of 320 gallons).

1 gallon of acetone costs about $10.00
32 Gallons of fuel costs about $64.00

Therefore, for every gallon of acetone used, you save $54.00 (as of this writing [March 31, 2005]).

Hey all,

Sorry we dropped off the site, my wife rebroke her leg and I got hit by a virus and wiped out my computer.

I've tried a few differant things and gone back to plain gas to recheck my results on my 05 H2 and my 02 TJ.

At 55 mph our H2 is getting around 17mpg and at 65 mph we are getting 14-15+ mpg. This is a stock H2 with Airaid cold air intake, Granatelli(sp) cold air mass sensor, and we have the superchip programmer, running 87 octane settings that they suggest. We've not had any time to test 75 mph but we have a trip planned in October to Virginia and back to ND that will give us some real good data. Our TJ is getting 21 mpg regularly so I am really happy with the 2 oz of Acetone per 10 gal that we are using.
I am going to test our Harley Ultra now, we got a good standard of mpg and now we will start testing it. I hope this helps sorry it took me a while to get back, we are just now getting our life back in order. We will be around more now that I found you guys and gals again.
