I just had the sunroof replaced on my wife's H3 last week due to broken plastic stop that was rattling. It lasted only about 3 miles after picking up from the dealer before the rattle came back. Took it back to dealer and they pulled the liner to find the new sunroof was already broken. They contacted GM who told them to look for broken tack welds. They found one that had broke loose and are in the process of welding it back up. This is the second '08 they have replaced the sunroof on but the first with the broken tack weld. This rattle was coming from right above the rear seats in the middle. The shop was locked up when I picked up the rental so I didn't get a chance to take a pic.

Just got the H3 back from the dealer. It took them three days to repair. They had to use some sort of epoxy on the crossmember and reworked the weld that had broken per guidelines they got from the factory (apparently some sort of service letter exist on this issue per the dealer?). Never made it over to see what exactly was being done so hopefully it will last. It held for the ride home (25 miles) so we will see.

on my 08 h2 sut, before i took ownership of it, the service dept installed double face tape inside the pockets of the door handles on all 4 doors and re-did the trim on the front windshield...they said they do that to all of them because they come back the next day with the same rattles if they didnt do that from the start.

on my 06 h2 suv, i had my wife drive me around on some pretty harsh roads so i could locate the rattles...that was the best thing i ever did because i ended up finding all of them that way and fixing them.

i know what you mean by being annoyed of all the rattles even though its a HUMMER.

I have those same annoying rattles in the headliner. I took it to the dealer and they said that there was a modification that needed to be made on the sunroof per GM's notification. I drove it off the lot and didn't hear anything until I took it on the freeway at 70mph.... ugh!!!! Well I am definitely taking it back to them.

The fix my dealer did seems to be holding. It took them a few trys but I think they have it fixed. I don't mind little rattles but that rattle was about as annoying as it gets.

I recently noticed rattles and squeaks as well (6500 miles), but my truck went throught a lot of bouncing on rocky trails, so I'm not surprised. None of the rattles are too annoying yet though, but they're definitely there.

35K on mine before it started. Took it in to the dealer and everything was fine for one day, then it started back up just like before.

Funny thing, the loaner with 3K already had EXACTLY the same rattle!

A guy that I work with has the same rattle.

Seeing this many occurrences, you can't tell me that GM doesn't know about the problem and know what the solution is.

I had a rattle in the right rear some where as well. Sounded like something hitting metal. Did it all the time coming to a stop and acceleration off the line. No noise at highway speed. Around town drove me nuts. After taking out all the right rear trim and riding around in the back it turned out a harness that plugs into the passenger side rear seat belt behind the C pillar trim was rubbing on the long bolts from the right rear door latch. Taped the harness, wrapped it in auto wire harness foam where it passes through the opening and them put sound deadening material over the harness. No more noise.

so ALL HUMMERS DO NOT RATTLE !

Just wondering how you're doing in the creaks and rattles department?
