Re: Rubicon Run - 2006!!!
Did you take the same outside line? I think if we had done the inside line, there wouldn't have been any problems.... Mine was a little more difficult because there was a big hole right in front of the boulder, and my wheel dropped right into it...

I squeezed right through on the inside line going uphill, which way were you going when you got stuck?

Re: Rubicon Run - 2006!!!
Did you all look for the mine shaft that's supposed to be near Old Sluice that leads back to Loon Lake? It's near the damn?
What's the story of Sid's Grave? I couldn't find any history on it.

From the RTF website: Syd's Grave: located at the base of Cadillac Hill, with some other *mock* graves that you might find. Originally named for Syd Mainwaring. According to the Book written by Peg Presba on "Jeepers Jamboree, The first 40 Years", Syd Mainwaring passed away in 1975. It was a solemn crowd who stood watching as the helicopter took off to scatter his ashes over the Rubicon Trail on July 22nd. 1975. The grave stone reads "A man to match our mountains", that's how everyone felt about him.
I don't know anything about a mineshaft. But I heard about a tunnel from Buck Island Lake to Loon Lake. But we didn't really have time to do much exploring.

Re: Rubicon Run - 2006!!!
It was an absolute hoot to be part of this great trip! I spent alot of time shotgun to Dochummer, and out on the trail moving rocks. I really wasn't expecting so much of that. but I wanted to throw out my thanks to everyone. it was great meeting you! H2F, I'll take the steak if I ever make it down there.

For a trail noob, you caught on quickly to spotting and were quite an asset. You're welcome on all future runs.

No, he uses a spotter. First he uses him as a sounding board to make sure what he's planning doesn't make sense, then he makes sure that the spotter takes him through his insane line...
Hey Sewie, was your locker really not working on the Big Suck Sluice? What did you find out about it?

That actually sounds about right.
I haven't checked on the locker yet.
