Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
It may be a bit before I order this thing??.
(Got another -non H3- toy on order that has priority)
However, I?ve loosed my price ferret and found some better deals on it.
Manufacturer Direct
https://secure.dhserver2.com/suvcarg...l/cc-info.html
Merchandise Total: $196.00
Shipping: Haven?t checked that yet
AutoSport
http://www.autosportcatalog.com/index.cfm?fa=p&pid=3714
Merchandise Total: $229.00
Standard Shipping to USA: $52.95
Current Total: $281.95
L.L.Bean
http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/sto...tomi_104867481
Merchandise Total: $259.00
Regular Shipping and Handling: $11.95
Additional Shipping: $15.00
Current Total: $285.95
That old adage ?You get what you pay for? may apply here, but
all I?m looking for in this thing is a way to keep all the heavy
crap out of the side cubby?s and the rear door (especially). I?m
sure I?ll have to make some sort of drawer prop as it doesn?t
appear to be self supporting when fully extended?.But I
could live with that.
I?ll be sure to post up some install pics and what not when I get it.
(If it turns out to be half arse decent and there is some interest, maybe
it would warrant an attempt at a group buy)
Regards,
Gunner

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
RYD:
That first link (manufacturer) works for me......
Try this one instead.....should take you to the home page
http://www.suvcargocaddy.com/
As for the second listing, Ignore the "Not for the H3", it is the same
EXACT box....I guess the site just doesnt have us listed in the fitment
guide.

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
Someone might want to double-check the exterior depth. I think the maximum depth I figured for mine was 26" from door to seat-backs. These boxes state they are 29" deep.
I could be wrong but I thought I'd mention the possibility of an improper fit...

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
Good point....I need to crawl my large round @ss back there and
take some proper measurements with the hatch closed.
The rearward slant of the back seats might create some fitment problems.

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
Don't expect these to fit guys!!!
I just had my buddy make a custom one for me and the specs I have doesn't allow for these boxes to fit.
My specs were:
40" wide x 26" deep x 10" high. There is a little extra room around it but I don't see how you're going to get the "mid-size" in there with a 32.5" depth or the "full-size" at 45.5" wide.
Just don't see it fitting in there based on the dimensions I measured but, good luck !!

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
Are the BACK VERTICAL Pieces of the ready made boxes at 90 degree (straight up and down) or do the slope out at the bottom to match the seat back ????

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
Just got back from checking......
$%@^&$%#$!!$$% ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Son of A ??????..
The d@mn thing is about 3.5 inches too deep.
Deck measurements are fine,
However, when measuring a foot off the deck, between
the rear seat back and inside of the (closed) hatch, you get 29 inches.
Even with the rubber mat and carpet removed, you only gain another inch of clearance.
The slant of the seats and the thickness of the hatch are what did me in.
(for the record, I would have double checked prior to ordering and should have done that prior to posting as well....double dumb ass on me)
Damn?.that is both disappointing and embarrassing.......
Man?that really brings the suck.
Sorry to waste ya?lls time.

Sorry to hear about that gunner ... hope you can send it back.
So what were the actual dimensions of the cargo area on the deck and at seat height ... I want to add them to the FAQ

Re: STORAGE BOX FOR H3
I wouldn't feel bad about the oversite... tis why we are all here. I am glad I caught the specs and remembered what I had to work with for the rack. For that fact, I am glad I saved you the money.
I wonder if there would be a way to shorten that product ....

It will have two sep. drawers on ball bearing glides, each drawer will have a rubber liner mat, it wiil be bolted down to tie downs, and tie downs will be move to top of unit with large heavy duty rubber mat from Tractor Supply.
