Keep in mind the factory plastic valance is not installed in this pic. But it is part of the complete setup.

Anyway next step is for Rubberduck to make a jig. Then produce one on the jig to make sure the jig is correct. Once that is done Travis will be ready to take orders.

The pix below are the pix of the mounting system.

Keep in mind this is the the prototype and its not yet complete. But VERY close!

How sturdy is this guard? It looks tuff but can it handle weight or a tree bump without damage to the hood?

You should be easly be able to level 2-3" saplings without so much as blinking. It should be very stout as It is mounted directly too the frame of the truck.

The whole Idea of this guard came to mind when I was riding with Travis at the Kinzalow's event in May this year and he used the guard to pivot the front of his H1 off of a Large (more than 12" dia") tree to make a turn.

Now I am not saying that I am sure I want to try this as I don't know what the frame of the H2 will do. However sooner or later I am sure I will put it to the test lol....

All,

Travis is ready to get started on production. He is taking deposits and trying to get scheduling together. As of now there are basically 4 of these that are already sold.

For availability info, email travis@rubberduck4x4.com or call him at 513-617-0913

Thanks,
Eric

I will not mount to the hood. However it is not like the SMA brush guards either.
The mounting bracket is bolted directly to the frame and radiator core support. The factory plastic valance will act as a cover for the mounting system. from the outside it will look very similar to the old hinged SMA. But the old hinged SMA does not have a mounting system that spans the frame rails etc....

This mounting system is made from 1/4 plate and is extremely rigid. It's literally like adding another cross member to your frame.

Any updated pics with the plastic valance? Just wondering how it all comes together, as I have the same winch bumper as you. Thanks!

Not yet. Travis is trying to get scheduling lined up and deposits taken etc... before he takes the time to build out the jig and send the prototype to powder coat etc....

Building the Jig is VERY time consuming. (Takes about two full days of labor to do it correct) And the prototype must be used to build the jig so that these pieces can be reproduced. If you powder coat the piece then build the jig its going to destroy the powder coat on the first piece and you have waisted money.

So before he builds the jig he really needs to hear from you guys directly that you are all committed and what feedback you have. Things like when you would like to expect delivery? What options you guys want etc....?? So if you have not yet reached out to Travis take some time to do so.

Any finished pics with yours all together? Still wondering about the "NO" mounting points for the hood area. Seems odd? So the top of the guard won't push into the hood when the front pushes off of a small tree?

I do not have any pix yet. Should be shortly after one more order is in.

The mount for this brush guard is completely rigid as it is mounted to the frame of the truck. There will be no flex to have any contact with the hood. Travis can explain this better than I. Really I guess we should get some better pix of the mount off of the truck so you can see how substantial it is.
