NICE. "THE SUT" looks great with mud... It looks even better than an SUV with mud.

So, how did the tires do? Did they rub? Did you have the truck twisted or flexed all the way with the tires turned? I really like that look and have considered doing that setup, but do not want to if they are going to be too bad. My 37's rub a little when flexed all the way and at full lock on the sways. I have been considering turning the torsion bars up a few turns, but do not want to ruin the on road ride quality. What do you think? Anyone?

I didn't flex/twist it very much, but from what I did do, there was only light rubbing on the back of the fender wells.

Since lifting the front via the torsion bars, the ride it noticeably harsher on bumpy roads, but still decent, and just as smooth on the highway.

I'd also like to add that if I was a serious off-roader, I'd recommend a 2 to 4 inch lift kit if running 37x13.5 tires on 10 inch wheels. Just my opinion.

Rodster, they are the Weld Velociti wheel, 18x10, with a 4.5 inch backspacing.

Thanks, Pete. Now that you've had the new wheels and tires for a few weeks . . .

Is the 4.5 backspace enough to keep the tires from rubbing a lot?

Noise level still tolerable? I understand the Nitto MG tires are considerably more noisy than the Toyo Open County M/T and since I'll likely buy one of those two next week, would appreciate your input. Thanks again -- Rod

No prob, rod.

If you are really worried about road noise, and find definitive proof that the Toyos are less noisy, stay away from the Mud Grapplers. I grew up with mud tires, so it doesn't bother me too much, but they are damn noisy.

As for the rubbing, whereas I originally thought that the front tires weren't rubbing that badly when at full steering lock left or right, they actually wore a hole through the fender well on one side within about 2 weeks. I cranked the torsion bars all the way up, which has made the truck sit just about perfectly level, and has elimated the rubbing. The new tires, coupled with the torsion bar adjustment, causes the front end to be a bit "bouncy" over dips and bumps in the pavement...nothing real bad, but just not the original amazingly smooth ride it once had.

Which part of the tire wore a hole through the fender? Was it the outer part of the tire when turned in? Would an increased offset have prevented that?

The more I read these forums the more I realize there's no way I'm going to get away with 22x11" wide rims on 37's.

Yes, the outer edge of the right front tire when turning right. I guess I make more right turns than left, since the left side did not wear through (before lifting the front) but still rubbed quite hard.

I don't think there's a wheel made with enough offset to keep 37's on a 22x11 wheel from rubbing without lifting the truck. Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

Yeah I'm starting to accept the fact that I'll be going with 22x10's. I love the look of 20x11's on the 325/60's I've seen as I love the way the tire sticks out from the fender giving it a wider stance. However, I wanted to go with a slightly bigger tire like the 37's. But I'm thinking even with a custom rim no matter the offset it's going to rub either on the inside fender from the outer tire or on the stabilizer bar from the inner part of the tire.

Do you know how the Fabtech steering kit helps with clearance?

I don't believe that my Fabtech steering kit did anything to affect tire clearance.

With about 6,000 miles on 'em, they're wearing pretty well, but I'm overdue on rotating them.

MM, no lift, but I've been giving it some serious consideration.
