Re: H3 video slam aginst H3
On a more serious note, is it possible for a novice to change a tie rod a la the above photo? Carrying spares isn't a bad idea for extreme terrain. Ok - somewhat newbie question - are the rods universal or do you need to carry one for each side (re: left and right)?

Re: H3 video slam aginst H3
the trail fix is pretty simple just need an inner and outer spare . left and right side are same . count the number of turns in bent rod when removing then set new rod at same amount of turns . good enough to get to pavement , then seek professional help for an alignment check - adjustment . hey guys i just picked up a ball-joint / tierod fork that will be handy in the future for removal its in the tool bag !!!!!

Re: H3 video slam aginst H3
Thx - Sweet advice! Should I go GM or aftermarket on the rods? Also, are the wrenches readily available at auto stores?

Re: H3 video slam aginst H3
not sure on the aftermarkets yet , we just have spares from the dealer . just tell them you want an inner and outer tie-rod end . some dealers sell as kit with both . You should set up a tool kit with a metric socket set , wrenches and a couple big crescent wrenches , and a hammer some screwdrivers too . we dont wheel this kind of stuff that we break on by ourselves usually in groups of atleast 4 trucks with assorted tools and parts
