I love my 3, probably the best all around vehicle I have owned, but the Scout was a fine vehicle. Remember, in the wise words of Sir Rodney King, "Can't we all get along"

I gotta agree, I built a few myself, they're hell bent for stout. Rust though, oh geez, you couldn't keep a Scout from rusting out. I just gave up and let mine oxidize. I had full cage, winch, lockers front and rear, a 304, granny low five speed and Dana 300. It was killer. One thing it couldn't do, no how, no way, and what the H3 does soooooo much better, is sidehill. It's one reason that I have no plans to lift my H3. Some folks have a higher pucker capability than I do. Low as I can go and still get there does it for me.

Re: Jeep versus H3
A fawkin waste of 5 minutes of my life, reading this ghey ass thread.
Another troll hiding under the guise of being interested in a 3, while throwing out insults.
Come in here like I give a fawk about his questions and veiled insults. Anybody can write on the internet. Go wheel a fawkin 3, rent one, go with a 3 owner if you even have a rig at all.
I wheel with Jeeps. My 3 is better in lots of terrain, their Jeeps keep up in some ****. The Rubi's are capable and good climbers if they don't tip over.
Problem with Jeep is quality, it's shiat. Modify the fawker and the factory doesn't want to honor the warranty. Fawk this troll.

Re: Jeep versus H3
Here's a question Stagger Lee, how come the only "NEW" Jeeps I see on the trails (that I 'm on with an 06 H3) are only attempting the easy sh1t, and a little mud?
The jeeps that are really getting after it, are all older and modified with lifts and aftermarket upgrades all over them. There are some bad-ass Jeeps, but MOST of them are older and modified way beyond the factory setup.
I see some Rubi's out there, but they seem to be the only ones getting serious. The factory Jeeps are missing in the backcountry here.

That is a great video. I mean, he's absolutely right about most of the points (minus the whole Tahoe bit). Just so entertaining to watch though. Too bad he didn't take it to the LR school and have some real fun...

Re: Jeep versus H3
Sorry for all the harshness before. I bought the H3, signed papers friday night. I pick it up Thursday, and am heading straight to the mountains to find trouble and snow. I will have plenty of pics for the non believers. Again all apologies for the harsh words, and hopefully I can learn something from you all. Cheers!

You Fool,...you gotta be kidding me you would listen to this crap and
actually believe it. The JK would eat this piece **** H3 for lunch in any situation. This is rediculous even vs them against each other, how emarrasing this would be for a the JK. Maybe an H3 vs KIA Serento....even then I still don't know who would win. Actually it's the biggest laugh of the century. Guy's, your just not there yet, keep talking your way there, but I don't think that'll work... Grow up kids and go get a real
man's 4X4 and get rid of your fake. You'll be much more happier.

Re: Jeep versus H3
Drive what you like, Im giving the H3 a try, and I'll form my own opinions. I have driven most all other 4x4s, so no need to trash. Like I said before every rig produced is going to have pros and cons in different situations. To each there own. And is it really worth to register just for one blow off at the mouth?

Re: Jeep versus H3
Of course teh Scout I had was before any Hummer (civilian version) had come out. Articulation was fair (compared to the other vehicles at the time so comparing it to the Audi A4 is out). The torque was unreal, the tractor sounding engine was unique, and take the top off it was fun.
Being 12 years older and wiser I am not saying I would own one but if my son wanted on I think we could make a respectable ride out of it. And the crash rating... I was hit twice (two days in a row) in the back bumper. First time the Ford pickup had to be towed home (Mostly due to the tubed rear bumper). Second day a Chrysler sedan drove under the Scout till the car had lifted the rear wheels of my scout off the ground. The last one broke my fuels gauge.
