improving it? how? all hey did was take an existing motor and trans from the denali/escalade and throw it in the hummer.....not sure that it improved it, but i wonder how it compares to the 6.0 in the offroading world. with a 6 speed tranny, thats gotta throw you in a gear you didnt want to be in, when your climbing hills or decending hills. i dont see hoe using creature comforts from the upscale models were going to help the hummer. what if the escalade and denali end up doing a twin turbo v6? was the hummer going to have that?

I'm not certain but I think the flat black h2 that has been posted in this thread a few times is adiesel conversion preadator motor sports did. I have seen it on YouTube at a racetrack beating an infinity and a BMW. I also saw it for sale on ebaymotors and the DuPont registry for like $95,000.
Anyway I think it's a slick truck if it's the one I think it is, and its insanely fast. Still not a fan of the dropped look.

I've wondered that as well...
...I think at the end they were starting to push the H2 down the Range Rover route. The first time I sat in an 08 I remember feeling like I was in a car...not a Hummer. Don't get me wrong, the interior is nice and feels much more 'quality' then my 05, but too car-like for my taste.

...a little Line-X will toughen that 03-07 interior right up.

I've never sat in a 08 and up h2 but I have sat in escalades and denalis with the new interior, and I'm not a fan of the seats. I love the 07 and down seats much more. Way more plush. And the dash vents on the older models are such. Great feature that the new ones lack. Only thing from the 08 that I wish mine had......6.2 motor. The extra power would be nice.

I'm not talking about the 6.2..I'm talking about the concepts they had to discontinue because the company came to a halt. I believe they had new ideas and designs to make the hummer more economical, but we will never know that.

I've been in both seats..like them both, however I think the material in the new ones are more durable than the older seats. I'm not bashing either interior. Even Jeep is "escalading" up their interior. My dad has a 2011 Jeep JK Rubicon and it has full leather interior with Nav display.

Yeah...that Hx would have been pretty cool...especially if they'd have put a little diesel in it.

I have lost a lot of respect for GM for pulling that move and leaving their luxury line out in the desert to die. I really loved GM's, have three of them, and am just a little disappointed to see how they have handled themselves over the past few years.

With this, I got rid of one of my GM's a couple of weeks ago and picked up a Toyota, first time I have bought non-GM vehicle. Really would have like to see them hitch up their balls and stick with the Hummer line, they could have really opened it up with what Jeep just stole from them with those ridiculous 4 door wranglers, or as I like to call them Wannabe H2's. With as much money as Jeep has made on those things, Hummer could have come out with the Hx and a beefier version of the H3 and totally stole that whole market. Thanks to GM dropping Hummer, Jeep pretty much filled that void with their 4 door version of the Hummer and made enough $$$ to pull themselves out of bankruptcy.

Bad move GM, bad move.

Yes, we don't know what Hummer had in mind. But the HX (had they produced it) could have been the ticket. Have y'all also noticed how pricey Jeep's are now? My dad's jeep (granted it's loaded) was well into 40K..for a Wrangler!!

Could have easily had a V-8 H3 on a slightly modified trailblazer chassis with a little more clearance out there for $40-$45, would have blown the Jeep away. Oh well, all good things eventually come to pass; just sad to see Americans paying that kind of money for Chrysler parts

i thought at one point i saw spy photos of a h2 sut that was similar to an avalanche. much longer bed than the current sut. would have been pretty cool. i think it was based off of the suburban /esv/ xl chassis.
had hummer still been around, i think that the H3 would have stolen the show. the h2 would have turned into the H1 of the group with slow sales and the h3 would be the money maker. but a 2 door soft top hummer would have been cool. wether h2 or h3 style....it would have been cool to see the next steps.
