For some reason I always imagined DRTy being a big fat guy with a chip on his shoulder... Guess not. I like the look of your truck DRTY, those black wheels look great with those tires.

What's worse than a bad offer? no offer at all. My $30,000 was the first and still only offer. Everyone has a price, for $30K, maybe I'll go through the trouble. For some of you maybe it is $5K. Once an offer is on the table, we are in business, if that Todd is smart enough to counter that, he could've a $6K deal from someone by now. I did him a favor he was not smart enough to grab it.
One of the many folders in my briefcase now is a $1.2 Million annual contract. I made the first quote this AM, they will come back to ask for less. I built in $100K+ for the expected back and forth, it will drag on. If I started with the real price, I would have no room to move down. Nobody takes the first offer, this is not kindergarten play. For new clients, when they don't come back, often that is sign of a not-serious buyer. You have to judge that, we see green kids wasting time on deadend deals.
When you get a high price from a dealer, you don't snap and call the dealer JACKASS. In business, we are trained to judge clients and spot fraud by what they say and do and how they say and do it.
Alec, from time to time, people I know asked me to introduce them to bankers, lawyers, judge or to join a club. I am usually very careful, unless I know the person very well. Because what they do to/with others will be a reflection of me, my reputaion and ability to judge will be on the line. But this Hummer site thing is no big deal at all. Who cares if he is for real, smart or stupid, rude or Disco. Can't think of one reason why it matters to you or me.

Dennis,
It must be the poor lighting. I scare little kids most of the time.
I've always thought of getting a tatoo over my buttcrack the says "Exit Only". Maybe I'll finally get it.

NCHummerman and Detonate, I am acknowledging your offers. We are meeting with the client today to discuss the budget for the Hummer rental. I will let you guys know what the outcome is.
MAC - You crack me up. Guess what, if I go out and rent an H2 for $14K, guess who's tax dollars just paid for that - that's right yours! Instead, you could have collected the cash yourself and spent it on your rig.
Obviously neither of you have any clue what it is like to work for an advertising agency. RULE #1 -never disclose who your client is or what your budget is and be as vague as possible to get your answers until the deal is public.
Frankly I don't think it is necessary to tell you what my business is to get a simple suggestion of where to find an H2 for rent.

Todd, you just don't get it. You could have gotten it much cheaper from someone else here, but you turned mean too early. I spelled it out for you, elementary, but somehow you still don't get it. drop it.
It is always a mistake to think yourself smarter than others, your arrogance is too obvious. We are all getting tired and bored about this subject. How about drop this one, and do an extreme makeover and come back as a nice guy, then we can all engage in normal fun conversation? or just use another forum name, your got several names here already.

Todd,
I still think you can get it from the dealer cheaper than the deal you have already negotiated. Again, Team Hummer in Pasadena has a couple of wrapped Hummers just sitting around. I am sure they would like to make some money renting them out. You never responded to my suggestions so I'm not sure if you just don't take them seriously.
Call Jeremy Gump 626-449-3333, Jeremy is the owners son (Dad is now retired so junior runs the show). I really think he can help you. He also has an H2 that he destroyed off-road 8k in damage that has since been repaired but is sitting on the lot for (as-is). He would probably love to rent that one out for a few months.

Dear Todd,
I have pretty much "laughed" at the exchanges between you and some on this list ... but, who do you think that you are to tell me
quote:
Obviously neither of you have any clue what it is like to work for an advertising agency. RULE #1 -never disclose who your client is or what your budget is and be as vague as possible to get your answers until the deal is public.

???? You have absolutely no idea who I am or what I do or who I deal with, or for that matter, that of anyone else on this thread --- and most definitely what my involvement or anyone elses is with ADVERTISING .... you must obviously be new at this advertising game ... FYI, we work with ADVERTISING, the media, production companies of all types, etc., including agencies of all sizes and types on a regular basis .... as this is the main part of our business. I can only tell you that we get more details about the client than you have given or are willing to give .... hey, you did not even introduce yourself as an "Advertising Professional" when you asked your question, and you don't even answer personal e-mails !!!! Geeeeeesch !!!!!! Relax ....
Good luck!
Michael

Todd,
I will give him a call too. He is right down the street, I talk to him often and had the opportunity to see the pics where he destroyed this demo truck. If you're paying 14k for 3 months I can only imagine he will do better than that. I'm not sure about the details. Hopefully he is creative enough to get this deal done.
Good Luck, I hope it works out for your benefit and Jeremy's (No one in their right mind would buy that H2) and I'm not sure legally what he is required to disclose, maybe it doesn't matter since everything he broke has been replaced. I'll leave that to the experts.

Buckeye,
Don't waste your valuable time with this guy. Mac is right, the Armed Forces can't supply one for them? And didn't he just disclose the client?
Matt's clients are the Armed Forces of a different kind......
I know, I know, it's recycled

NC, sorry, I was not referring to you and Detonate in that last email. I was referring to the other 2.
In my business, we get our ideas ripped off all the time. It seems like I can't have a conversation with any one these days without haveing a NDA signed.

What are you apologizing for and why? Todd came on to insult everyone within sight, when challenged, he back-tracked and suddenly turned nice. He does not thank anyone nor answer anyone who helped him, unless when challenged and only then. This happened repeatedly in this topic. I worked with advertising agency for 27 years, what makes him think it is anything unique?
How can you turn against your own long time forum friends like Dennis and Drtyfn for a shifty lying ungrateful new comer? Is that how you treat your old friends in real life? Before anyone blame our own longtime members in defense of this Todd or whatever and how many names he uses, let me ask you if this is what you say when you come to Hummer site in good intention to ask for help? before anyone was nasty to him.

Good lord...you people (DRTYFN) are a bunch of JACK ASSES!
Apparently the folks on this board (except Steve R. who I met on the DISCOWEB site) are not a very intelligent community with relative and constructive suggestions. I got more info from the folks who own Land Rovers then all of you, and they laugh at H2 owners all day long. (except Steve R.)
Thanks for nothing. I am glad I own a Land Rover if this is the type of people I would encounter in an H2 outing or event."

Hey Mac ...
"I apologize" is just an expression .... you know !!!! This guy doesn't work for an advertising agency. He's just "jerkin" eveyones chain for a "rise" and he surely got one ... I cannot remember who said it, I believe you, that "it" I mean "he" is over on this Forum ...
Later,
Michael
