Well finally took the plunge and ordered new wheels because my stocker tires are dry rotted. Plenty of tread life but cracked to hell.

I went with Method Standard wheels in black with Kumho Road Venture MT's. The wheels are 17x9 with a 4.25" backspace. I wanted the wheels pushed out to look better with my flares. The stock wheels looked horrible sunken in with the extended flares.

Tires are the same size but the new ones were over 2" taller for some odd reason:









Nice wide stance!





I was incredibly worried about the backspace not working but at 4.25" the tires are perfectly in line with the edge of the flares. The wide stance with the MT's gives the rig a completely different look. The pics don't do the Method wheels justice, they are hands down awesome in person!

Latest update.

Received a pair of Truck Lite LED headlights from a new member on a different forum, one hell of a guy in my book! The lights are military lights in 24 volt configuration. I had to add in 12-24 volt converters which aren't expensive at all so I figured why not. Lights are nice and bright. I only have the lows wired in right now as wiring in the highs will require 2 more converters. So down the road I'll get those going, I rarely use my highs and I didn't want to hold up the install. My HID's were giving me so many problems, so happy those things are gone!!

I've read they are not as bright as HID's which I wouldn't imagine they would be. I can't wait to go for a night drive with them. I'm just so happy the HID's are gone!!

Dannngggggg! Thats awesome man. Im a huge LED guy in general and was just wondering the other day how they would look on our headlights. Grab some night time shots from inside the vehicle so we can see the projection!

I'll try and grab some pics. They're not as bright as I had hoped but I think they are aimed far too high. They shined a driver of a brand new Durango right in the face and those sit high up. I'll post pics when I can!

They were burning the top of the reflector in both housings. Similar to what happened to my stock DRL housings which is why I swapped those out a while back. That and I've had them for a couple years so the relay was going bad, wiring was going, pretty much everything.

Plus I got these for free so why not, I love the look of them. I still need to adjust them down but they put out a decent amount of light. They're definitely no HID's but they'll do!

do you think the burning off could have come from the heat range you picked?
didnt you say you got 10k 55wbulbs? (or maybe it was 8k 55w)
just wondering if you went down in the color.... maybe head would have been less. or maybe the wattage?

I have always ran 35 watt HID's in all my vehicles and never had an issue so it is possibly the higher wattage 55 watt kits. I don't imagine the Kelvin of the capsules having anything to do with the heat generated though but it's a possibility.

What is weird though, when I pulled all the wiring and relay harness out of my truck when they were removed I was going over everything. The fuse on the positive wire for the relay harness was completely melted. The fuse inside was still good but the plastic was melted beyond belief. I installed a similar kit in my wife's Jeep Liberty. Hers started acting up and I found one of the terminals on the relay plug had melted through the thick plastic. Something on these kits is pulling too much power to melt all this stuff....

That is weird

Given my past experiences were with kits off amazon or eBay, not from DDM so I dont know, but I think mine were 35s and I dont ever remember seeing any melting.... So maybe you are right... the 55s do pull too much power and its causing the melting and the burning

So I can see why you switched... and like you said... free.... thats even a bonus.
Have you thought about the projector lights that are out there?
I personally cant see spending a premium on lights. Sure, a hundred or so thats one thing, but not for the premium those lights cost (If I remember correctly) a 100 or more...
Last and Only time I spent that kind of money on lights was on my M3 and they were the Bi-Xenon self leveling. But I also said "sure why not" because it was just another couple of bucks into the payment. Now... with the car in the garage I sit there thinking damn I could have gotten something really nice for that 2k :-)

I couldn't agree more. I spent so many weeks trying to find better housings. I looked at projector housings, LED, crystal cut, you name it. The LED are ridiculously expensive BUT the one question I had was if any 7" round light would work in our rigs.

Answer is yes, not sure if you've had your lights apart but installing the LED's was the first time I had mine apart. The housing basically gets sandwiched between the front piece with the rubber and the rear holder. I would imagine any 7" round light would work just fine. That opens up a lot of other possibilities. HID's in the ebay projectors would probably look awesome and be roughly $600 cheaper than STARR's.

Small update:

I've been wanting to swap out my regular lights on the roof rack to LED, problem has been the height is so limited that finding low profile LED bars has been a problem.

Found these on Amazon for $12 each and they are a lot brighter than the old lights"

Hey Lojoac, where did you get your tail LEDs? I just moved from Phoenix to California and believe it or not, the drivers are even worse!! Looking to swap out all my rear lights with something a bit brighter. Thanks!

Also, did you have to use a resistor or anything to keep the signals from blinking like a honda? Thanks.
