Why did you buy an H3?
Does the Horsepower really do suck??

Well today outside of wal-mart this 4x4 enthusiast guy who was driving this sky-high crazy monster Jeep riding on 45's (i think) and had every accessory you could think of, came up to me and said, "...I was just admiring your H3 and noticed you leveled it and added bigger MT tires, just to let you know those H2's loook like SH*T and I would take an H3 over and H2 anyday."
Not sure why he told me that but I felt pretty good especially coming from a guy who knows his wheeling. Nothing against the H2's but the H3's just look better, it's like comparing a WWF wrestler (the H2) to a fit MMA Fighter (the H3), the wrestler may have more strength but the MMA fighter would have way more stamina and agility. But this is just my personal opinion.

WTF??? I work with someone who has a cheap Cherokee, and it DOES NOT LOOK like a H3, or the H3 does not look like a Cherokee!

I agree, wtf. I had a '92 Cherokee for 2 years and the look and feel is very different from my H3.

I can't imagine that you had it repainted again after getting it painted pink earlier in the month

Actually I would say that the H3 looks more like the new Jeep Commander. Its funny I've been sitting here reading and reading.....6 pages......wow!!!
Ok, I know how crazy you H3 owners are, but really, is it really fair to say that a H3 is better looking then a H2 or even a H1. It looks like an H2 farted and "poof?, "what's this" "it's a tiny h2, but no, its not, its.....wtf is it...??
And now I can't wait until l hear a reply from..."dеiтайожни" What will he/she say this time, what sort of wonderful comeback I have to look forward to.

Re: Why H3?
This was just in the August 2006 issue of Four Wheeler magazine. A reader was unhappy about the magazine picking the H3 Hummer as their #1 pick for 4-wheeling. So he wrote a letter to the magazine. Below is the letter from the reader, along with the magazines response?.
Readers Letter -
Hummer H3 = Yuppie Ride?
?The H3 is the best 4x4 on earth? Yeah right ? what world are you on? How many H3s are actually taken on dirt roads, let alone four-wheeling? Maybe one in 100, if that. The H3 is nothing but an expensive S-10, plain and simple. The sight of a H3 at the local trail head gives images of the Sierra Club wanting to close down the trails. H3s are nothing but niche vehicles for yuppies.
Four Wheeler Magazines response ?
Guess that makes us a bunch of yuppies. Maybe worse then yuppies, as we have plans to acquire a long-term H3 for testing in the future. Do you still love us now?..

We may be crazy but not in how we like H3s. Beauty has always been in the eyes of the beholder, and if some of us prefer the looks of an H3 to an H2, what is the problem?
Believe me, with or without my discount, I could have afforded an H2 and the fuel bills it would bring. However, I never really considered owning one after driving one for a few weeks when they were first released. Just too large for me. I like the looks, loved the interior, but for someone who despised trucks and large SUVs, the thought of owning one was never seen in my future.
However, after driving a Wrangler cross-country a few times to Moab, I decided that it was time to step up to a larger vehicle that is capable to go off-road. When the H3 was released, I like it from the first time I saw it. It was smaller, easier to maneuver, so I purchased one, and have never regretted the purchase.
So, I am not sure how a person can compare the two. They are both great off-road, they are both comfortable to drive, they are both good-looking vehicles (at least to me they are). However, they are different vehicles. For some it might be a monetary decision, for some they might not like the looks of the H2, for some it might be they don?t like the size of an H2; who really cares what the reason is, as long as the person is happy with the decision they made.
In a few years, will you be cutting down the H4, saying it was farted out of the rear end of a H3 (or maybe an H1)?
Maybe someone should ask you, why an H2, when you could have purchased an H1?

wtf? Are you on drugs? We haven't even spoken since page 4, what's with this recent attack out of the blue? All the puppies been kicked, and you still need your fix?
Get over yourself, congratulations on owning an h2, the h3'rs are happy; go bother the h1'rs or find another forum of people to convert for whatever motive it is you have for getting more people to purchase h2s.

No, it doesn't. The Commander is blocky, the greenhouse is too tall and that grill ... . The H3 has the edges rounded off just slightly and GM/AM General/whoever did a far superior job of designing the front end and the windows.
In terms of market position, the H3 competes with the Liberty (1) and not the Commander, which has "soccer mommy" written on both sides with "soccer daddy, too" stenciled on the tailgate. It seems pointed right at lower-end Tahoe and Expedition buyers.
The H3 is designed to appeal to the people who used to buy an XJ as a good starting point for an off-road vehicle.
(1) Except the H3's warranty is superior. And it's safer in a crash. And cruise control and a security system are standard on the H3. And you can't get a locking rear diff on a Libby. And . . . you know, I have to wonder why DCX puts a model comparison on the Libby web page when the H3 kicks its tail so soundly.
