It seems if you go below 32 in one tire the light comes on.So when you air down you will get a warning light
I have only done moderate off roading/beach 20 lbs seems good.I wouldnt go below 15 lbs.
For trails that are not too rough I dont are down at all.

JP, you selling your H3?

Hey FourFourto and JP\'s-H3 -

I'm picking up a MF-1050 this weekend and was wondering... Have either of you wheeled your trucks since you installed? I'm asking as everything in my engine bay is covered in mud after last weekends outing.

Has the shower cap/condom worked like you expected it to?

How has the fuse box cover held up to the weight of the compressor?

How have the plumbed air lines held up? Are they as accessable as you had expected?

Have you found anything you would do differently now that you've lived with it for a while?

Hey FourFourto and JP\'s-H3 -

I dont think jp's been here for a couple months,I think I read he sold his H3

Has the shower cap/condom worked like you expected it to?

I havent had the pleasere of a muddy engine compartment yet,so I didnt try out the cap.You have to rotate compressor when installing and it seems a little mud shouldnt mess it up.If you know your going through mud I would cover it.

How has the fuse box cover held up to the weight of the compressor?

So far know problems I was bouncing good on the woop de do's on the back trails at the beach no problems.

How have the plumbed air lines held up? Are they as accessable as you had expected?

No leaks I did mine different than Jp.I used hard air brake lines and fittings from a tractor trailer(freebee from my brother at fed ex.) jp used rubber hose.

Have you found anything you would do differently now that you've lived with it for a while?

I did replace the dental floss string holding the rubber plug for fitting on the frame.I used the chain from a toilet conected to a spark plug boot(cut down, and sealed with eye loop on end) to protect male fitting on frame from dirt.

my brother made sugestion of moving the air gauge to top fitting and using the gauge hole to run line towards passanger side and loop behind battery.
Make sure you have 45 ,and 90 deg fittings on hand.
Make sure you dont drill that 4th hole in cover.
Make sure theres room to remove air filter for removal of compressor.

I moved the male fitting on the compressor to ther frame(special type it has to fit to hose)jp did it by cutting off female hose end and using it up top with standard fittings .

So where is everyone purchasing the MF-1050? I can't find an Autozone or Pepboys anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic that is still carrying these or that will even place an order for me.

Picked one up at Pep-Boys yesterday for $59.99 + tax and then a $10 rebate. So basically it will be $52.00 when all is said and done. Its a sweet little unit.

I'm also considering doing the hard install that you guys did, although I worry about how it will do when subjected to all that mud and water.

Your not going to get rid of me that easily!
I know it's been a while since I logged in but, I've been very busy!
NO, I have not sold my H3 but, I might! I really like the H3 but, I'm a real "TOYOTA FREAK" at heart. I might get a Toyota Tacoma Double Cab.
For now I'm enjoying my H3! I'll certainly keep you all posted. See you around! sincerely. J.P.

Glad to see you around. I saw an H3 on Ebay that looked just like yours and was in Salt Lake, then you were gone. Thought maybe we lost you to the dark side or something

FWIW,

The MF-1050 compressor fits perfectly in the right rear storage compartment if you don't want to permanently install it.

If you could wire up an adapter for the outlet in the rear, that would work but, I called DV Innovations (the distributor) and they told me that you can't use an adapter, It would burn out the motor.
