Default Antenna Questions

Hey all,
I have an '03 with the antennas on the roof, and I am looking to do a couple of things.
One I would like to change out the stock antenna for something different. I heard there is nothing out there that will fit it.... is that true? If not, how do I put another antenna on. I am looking to put possible a longer antenna or maybe even the long flexible tye to try and get better reception.... or if not just be able to put another shorty on there without having to spending the 50-60 bucks for one from the stealership.

The other thing I would like to do is remove the Onstar antenna. I am removing my Onstar and since I am.... welll i dont need the antenna there any more.
Is there a plate or a cap or something that came from the factor to cover this once removed?

Thanks all

I have not read or found any aftermarket antennas that will work for the H2 on the top. Nor do I know of any patches or covers once the antenna has been removed. Sorry.

Thanks LoJac,
Yeah the thing is from what I heard (and maybe I heard wrong) is that the 03 roof mount has a difficult antenna replacement setup. Like the setup is ONLY made to be replaced with the OEM antenna, and to do anything else you either need an adapter or you need to rework the whole base.

I think this might be why Rico and Fyr are interested in this too (but could be wrong)

I bought one at Walmart and it fit fine. It was not in my local store. I have a 03 and the reception is only mildly better.

I twisted the old mast off, identified the right adapter with the new antenna and screwed into the base.
