Anybody have any suggestions on what to do? First, I thought that it was the steering wheel locked on me and so I wiggled that but that seemed to be ok. I can ignite and turn off the car just fine. Then, maybe I thought of releasing the parking brake but still no luck getting out of Park. what do I do?

If you are parked on a hill, you may be experiencing problems with the parking pawl.

You might notice that when you park on an incline, your truck rolls a little after you put the transmission into P and release the brake foot pedal. What is happening is that the weight of the entire rig is resting against the parking pawl. This can make it almost impossible to get the transmission shifter out of park when you are on a hill. The best solution is to put the parking brake on before you shift into P, and then when you want to leave, put your foot on the brake pedal and then release the parking brake.

But that doesn’t help when you are stuck. One thing you can try is to get some help from a few friends by pushing the H3 up the hill a little bit, that should take some the rig’s weight off the parking pawl and allow you to get back into Drive.

Did you put your foot on the brake first?

Webb70 has a good point, if that is not the case, you can try what DarthKarl says, it might work IF this is the problem.
Inside the console is a device called the transmission shift lock control actuator that prevents you from moving the trans out of park unless you are stepping on the brakes. (Thanks to 60 minutes and their campaign to kill Audi.)
If this solenoid fails, the trans cannot be shifted out of park.
If the BCM senses the ignition has been turned On, and the PCM sends a signal to the BCM that the trans selector is in park, and the brake pedal switch signals the BCM that the brake is depressed, the BCM energizes the solenoid and allow the lever to be pulled out of park.
It could be the brake switch is bad (check your brake lights, if on, switch should be ok), wiring from the brake switch to the BCM, wiring from the park lever control to the PCM, signal and wiring from the PCM to BCM, wiring from the BCM to the solenoid, or could be the BCM took a dump.
Have you added any accessories and tapped into any circuits? Have you had the console out?
It could even be the swizzle stick inside the trans selector handle. When you push in the button, it pushes a plastic stick down the handle to disengage it from the position. We call it a swizzle stick, because it looks like one, although it is a heck of a lot stronger than the swizzle stick in my Morgan's Rum.

sorry for the delayed update, but I did get out of park and works fine now. I did notice that the I had to squeeze/jiggle the release button on the shift knob(automatic) a couple of times before I was able to change gears. Happy times again!
