Default I need a BIG favor.... '06+ supercharged guys

I'm trying to install a supercharger on my '06 SUT. The supercharger is used and coming off an '03 SUV.

The '03 uses a fuel return line with a regulator in the fuel block that attaches to the driver's side fuel rail.

The '06 DOES NOT use a fuel regulator (well it does, but it's in the fuel tank) and DOES NOT have a return line.

Is there anyone with an '06 H2 with a supercharger that could take a pic of where the fuel line attaches to the fuel regulator so I know what I'm suppose to have?

You shouldn't have to do anything but open your hood and snap a pic.

Thanks all,

Mark

Man, does it ever.... THANKS SO MUCH.

Yup, I see the problem. The fuel block is different on a fuel system without a return line and regulator.

I wonder if I can buy just that piece from Magnuson or do I have to buy the whole fuel rail from the dealer.

Guess I'll have to wait till Monday.

As an update, the supercharger is installed, most of the wires are run. I just need to install the intercooler. (I'm debating on using the small one I had on my old supercharged H2 or buy a full size "H2" intercooler)

Anyone with a suggestion to the best place to buy an intercooler?

Other than that, I'm ready to roll. I did not this time change out radiators for an aluminum one.... I'm sure I'll end up doing so soon enough.

Mark,

The fuel block is available from Magnuson for a fairly low price (less than $50 if I remember correctly), the exact cost I don't remeber but I checked earlier this year when a buddy was considering buying a used setup for his H2 and needed the block and the 42# injectors.

http://www.frozenboost.com/index.php?cPath=217&osCsid=5e37fdaccc6d0c4cc463764 229b81287
With regard to the intercooler I have seen people use units from the link below good results.

On another note I had my radiator let go last month, which in turned smoked my transmission and made a mess I don't want to ever see again. Earlier this year the exact same thing happened to my dad's H2 that has the same supercharger setup. I now run an all aluminum unit and a larger external trans cooler bypassing the radiator with good results. I would ditch the factory Delphi radiator ASAP or at least bypass the trans cooler lines running through it.

Tom,

Thanks once again....

When I did my last H2 supercharger, I changed to an aluminum radiator because I was afraid of that GM trait.... broken tranny lines in the radiator.

I ran a remote tranny cooler with a huge fan on it under the H2 above the grate protection guard.

Was your and your dad's H2's 06's?? A buddy of mine that works for GM says he used to see that problem all the time but hadn't seen it in a long while so I assumed GM made some changes. (you know what assume means)

I'll probably end up installing this aluminum radiator to be on the safe side.

Thanks again for your help.

Mark,

both are 06 models, both had the same factory Delphi radiator fail. The parts manager at the local dealer said they have seen numerous failures although I didn't ask which years.

Good Luck

I got an aluminum radiator from another member and found out it had a pinhole in it.

I took it to a radiator shop and they said it couldn't be repaired.

So guess I'm looking for an aluminum radiator.

I'll let you know when it gets together. Tomorrow I should receive the correct fuel block so other than the radiator, at least it's driveable. (and tranny cooler)

Hi Mark, Ron Davis makes some awesome dual-core radiators but they have the same Delco tranny heat exchanger in them. However, they'll make one to order without the tranny heat exchanger in it. This is what I have.

Yes, the 06s do experience the failures

Did you ever get the OEM intake you needed? I might have one in a few weeks if you still need it.

Thanks guys, got the truck running.

And Bob, I'm uh, er, installing it to make sure it works, yeah, that's it. I want to make sure it works before it goes on someone else's truck.

I'm sure I'll be taking it back off soon when I verify everything works.

Hey Orange Crush - Congrats Man!!

I wish I read this earlier to compare some notes. I also picked up my S/C used and it was off an 03. Tim at Magnasun was awesome and shipped me everything I needed to make the 03 S/C work for my 05. I had to get the intank fuel pump, fuel regulator and the programmer. Shame b/c the one I bought came with all that but evidently it was different for the 05.

One problem I have is a slight fuel leakdown when it sits for an extended period of time. I guess an oring in the fuel pump is not quite seated in...I lubed everything with lithium too...it's fine just starts a little hard in the AM.

Sorry to jack the thread just wanted to share some notes w/mine.

By far the best mod I've ever done!!!!!

Once you have a Supercharger on your H2, you really cant own an H2 without one. Feels dead.

One more thing you may want to check. It would not be uncommon for an o-ring to get torn putting it back together.

The fuel could leak back down and give you the same symptoms.
