H3 with dual exhaust
Saw an H3 with dual exhaust pipes today at the dealer service shop.
I've seen them for sale on GM accessories-direct.
Does anyone have this option?
Does it increase performance, or sound?

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
GM will never post any performance stats...it's the whole cat back system...the sound is alright -- its still spitting out the back end of an I5, though...

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
There is an entire thread here somewhere on this.
I think Sewie(?) has it done.

Nope, mine's stock.
But there are plenty of threads about exhaust systems on here.

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
From GM?s picture, they are showing an old SMA picture.
The SMA dual exhaust was made by Billy Boat exhaust.
Jason who owns this site originally had the exhaust listed as an SMA exhaust, but now that they are gone he has reworded the description and the exhaust is now called a Billy Boat exhaust.
The picture on Jason?s site here sure looks like the same type to me anyway.

I bought one of these from Jason and it made a major difference in the power/performance of my H3.
Where the H3 gasped and ran out of power going up a steep incline on the interstate or another highway it cruises right along now. The difference is like night and day. I love the dual exhaust.

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
Mine has a bit of resonant buzz at certain RPMs... but the exhaust tone and performance are excellent.

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
It makes a difference, and you can feel it. The sound isn't anything near a V-8 rumble, but it is kinda cool. Low RPM's give you the best sound, sometimes in mid Rpm's it reminds me of a rice burner, but everyone that has bothered to say anything to me about the sound, say that it sounds good.
Botton line, no doubt about it, you get more geedy-up. Everyone likes a little more geedy-up.

Re: H3 with dual exhaust
Yes I have the Corsa exhaust on my 06 H3.
Pro's: Sound is good, kinda like a BMW straight six, but not a V8 rumble of course, not a ricer sound either. Normal freeway cruising is nearly as quiet as stock in the cab. Looks cool, stainless tips do not rust. A little extra power at high revs pulling long hills, etc.
Con's: At mid-throttle pulling long gradual grades, a bit of droning. Expensive at $850ish. For heavy wheelin you will need to have a muffler shop mod the tips so they can be removed, otherwise they might get damaged on departure.
Just my 2cents after several months using the Corsa.
