Free mods?
Hey, i dont know if there are or not, but from my previous vehicles there have always been a few modifications that were DIY and you could do for free that would either better appearance, or help performance wise... Is there anything that you can do to the hummer? Just thought id ask, got some spare time on my hands and might as well work on something thanks!

Re: Free mods?
Nope. Not one single thing. And don't go searching the threads here thinking you'll find anything, either.

Re: Free mods?
Search the tow/haul button technique.
You could blacken your H2 symbols and other little things with Krylon truck bed liner. SOme have blacked out their rims with spray paint

Re: Free mods?
Here are the top 10 must do (nearly) free modifications:
1. Duct Tape Racing Stripes
2. Lime Green Rims.
3. Chrome Tape the Bumpers
4. Fake Side Pipes - You can do this with some PVC pipe and chrome paint
5. LEDs - easily done with old christmas lights.
6. A red velvet and chrome air cleaner on the dash.
7. Curb feelers.
8. Cow head stickers on all four doors.
9. Bumper stickers - as many as will fit on the back hatch.
10. And lastly and most importantly, multiple shark fin antennas!

see? thats what im talkin about, i live my life a quarter mile at a time (well in the hummers case a quarter tank at a time) so thatll definitely help me! Do you know where the biggest and loudest muffler can be purchases to fit an h2? JK
In all honesty i didnt think there was much, but i guess i would look into cutting the steps...thought ask anyways, On my last car (porsche turbo) i was able to get into the CPU and adjust some boost and fuel maps which cost me nothing and get some free horsepower... I figured maybe the hummer is capable of something, oh well, thanks anyways though!!

Re: Free mods?
Dang, he's serious... I guess I have to be too.
I know you can level the front out a bit adjusting the torsion bar.
Be careful with performance mods and offroading - there are some suspension parts that can be compromised.
Good luck the customizing your ride. Post pics!

Re: Free mods?
actually, there is the tb bypass. It would really net you alot of power but maybe one or two.
there is a line of coolant that enters the tb and exits back towards the radiator. Well, get some couplings and bypass the tb by connecting the pre tb line to the line going towards the radiator.
If's free but not really.
besides that, there is the drl mod, i guess you can crank the torsion bars to level the front end.
Thats about it really... if you want a bit more power, just get an intake, headers, catback and a dynotune.
