Default Exhaust Resonator???

Has anyone removed the exhaust resonator and replaced with a straight pipe? If so, how was exhaust tone effected and any noticable changes???

Default Re: Exhaust esonator???

I did two months ago. It sounds like a Honda with a coffe can on it. Basically SUCKS!!! You definitely will not like it! I went back to the muffler place and they put a long Magnaflow resonator on it and it is perfect although not as loud as I would like but nice. Good luck!

I removed the resonator and stock muffler and put a 40 series flowmaster where the resonator was. I made custom tailpipes and reinforced the pipes because I wheel and it sounds awesome.

Thanks for actual input, looks like i will end up with a entie cat back system since this does not seem to be a good idea.

Interesting. I put a Magnaflow cat back on mine and never even noticed the resonator... or esonator as you put it.

I do LOVE the sound!! I have an H2 though... I just realized this post is in the H3 section.
