Default Scan tool for ABS, TC, and airbag issues

**ETA: Found a cheap scan tool that worked. See below**

I have all of those warning lights lit.

Does anyone have and can recommend a scan tool that can read these from a 05 H2?

I have the paid Torque app but it doesn't appear to read these items.

I know the parts store here will read your codes for free-does anyone do that in your area? They will usually even give you a print out of the codes and what they mean.

They can't read ABS or Airbag codes. Only engine related.

I never knew that, interesting!

I would imagine without dropping hundreds of dollars on a programmer/reader you won't be able to pull the codes then without taking it to the dealer.

Have you tried the ELM327 or 328 with the Torque program?

The torque program does not read these type of codes. It only does engine related codes.

For reference I did get lucky and I was able to read my codes.

I was looking for scan tools on craigslist and someone had an OTC 9450 that said it would do ABS and SRS systems. I picked it up for $80 used but like new. With the tool setup for my 05 H2 it didn't give me the option to view SRS codes but did give me the ABS code option. I got the code C0050 RRW speed circuit malfunction.

I then set it up for a 06 H2 even though mine is a 05. It did give me SRS and ABS options then. I tried to read the ABS codes again and it couldn't read them when set for the incorrect year. However, it did read the SRS codes! It gave me codes B0103 and B0104.

Now to just figure it out from here.

Good find!!!

I didnt know that the ELM or Torque couldnt read these.
I guess since I havent had any codes on the H2 and my Vette has an internal reader, I wasnt able to find out.

Of course for other cars it read and reset them, but thinking about it.... probably all engine codes too.

Thanks for the info!!
