If you have a roof rack, you are better off mounting it up there. You have a good ground plane and many mounting options.
The other option is to do a glass mount. Radio Shack - 49 bucks.

I recently updated the install to a billet mount and heavy duty spring and sighly suggest if you bumper mount not to go with anything but a heavy duty setup, you'll end up for a drooping antenna in no time otherwise. I wish I could remember the vendor for my setup as it is really nice, best bet is to check around on the web.
I you are ever in West Chester there is a place on 202 that sells CB products and he has the stainless steel spring and will probably have the mount also.
Chris
Philadelphia?

Hello Chris, What is the name of the place in West Chester? I live in Paoli. Thanks!
1485 Wilmington Pike (Rt202)
If you take 202 south from west chester it is on your left after you pass the cavallo auto body. You will have to do a turn around at the wawa at the next light. It is very small. It is near the row of small shops.
Small world as I was just drove up 252 from Newtown square this morning.
What color is your truck.
On your website you make mention of having problems with the weld breaking on your slantback tire carrier. What brand was it?-it doesn't look like the Predator brand carrier? What happened?- just shoddy craftmanship???
Thanks,
-HUMMERDOGG
The carrier was made by Unlimited Offroad. A company that I will only say you should do some serious background checking on before you buy anything from them.
The weld and design was just poor. In the end the post the tire mounted on carried all the weight because it was to high. The tire's weight never rested on the frame itself to distribute the weight.
I've seen the Predator one, Chris Hagman has one and its a solid and much nicer product.
I replaced my tire carrier for the RhinoLift tire carrier that mounts on the bumper. I can only say it one of the nicest products I've ever seen. Solid, functional and just easy as hell to use. And trust me, over the 3-4 months since I got it I've had ample opportunity to use it. oh the joy of cutting tires.
I've been real happy with just mounting a heavy duty "plastic" storage box up where the tire was. The extra storage is great for holding all those tools and extraction gear that I use to have all over the place.
p.s. Chris, they finally billed me for the rhino
HUMMERDOGG the predator one is really nice. I added angle iron on the body mounts which I am really happy with.
I went to your website but am unable to access any of the pictures or write-ups after I click on the Modifications Pictures. Can you post pictures of the angle iron you used to support the body mounts of the tire carrier?
Thanks,
-HUMMERDOGG
Sorry about that. If you need a larger picture let me know.
