Default Auxiliary Lamp Covers (Stock)

Has anyone had any problems keeping their auxiliary lamp covers snapped on their stock lamps? I lost one off-roading so I went ahead and pulled off the other for sake of uniformity and had to place duck tape over them b/c a cop at a seatbelt check point said to cover them or I?d get a ticket.

I researched the forum and found this thread http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=24356 where the part number for the caps can be used to order from GM, just curious if there are other options for covering the lamps? In our state, the law does not specify that a motorist must use opaque lamp covers, so even clear or tented lamp covers are an option.

Any other cover options would need to be fabricated...I haven't seen anything out there...
