Made it to 5000 mi.

Well, I made it through 5000mi driving to and fro San Antonio. BTW, that I10 is really pretty down there, just so picturesque. I highly recommend it to y'all. Anyways, @ 5000mi, I've just had the following:

1. Failure of the airbag sensor early on (waited a long time for the part, though )
2. 1 mysterious OnStar call to check if I was ok.
3. Run-in with an immovable object resulting in need for replacing rear bumper and corner "element" (which I'll do after the Katemcy trip, just in case).

So far, the only things that I really really don't like about the truck is the algorithm of its' cruise control and the lack of storage bins for my knick knacks up front (love the storage in the back, though).

Had mine since last Aug. A wopping 2900 miles so far. 1 broken right rear leaf is my only issue. Not enough miles to have issues I guess.

I just had my airbag sensor replaced, low tire pressure sensor replaced and new roof rail (cracked)...5500 miles. Great service from Bachman Hummer in Louisville and they gave me a Yukon to drive for 5 days. One week and no problems with the repairs made.

16,000 miles here and only 2 defects so far.

1. Seat (leather) cover was coming loose, easy for dealer to fix.

2. I think my back washer fluid motor is dead after using it heavily at Lake Tahoe. Next oil change I'll have it fixed.

Quality is almost as good as my Toyota Highlander (zero defects in 3 years). I'm impressed so far.

Had my H3 for 2 weeks and my only issue is that the back washer fluid motor doesn't work. I used it once and it hasn't worked since.

Steve and dani and anyone else that may not know there is a recall on the H3 to replace the rear washer motor. Take about 5 mins to do.

Thanks for that info. I was unaware of the recall. Honestly- I'd have thought the dealer would've fixed it (or at least checked it out) before they delivered it to me. Especially when they KNEW there was a recall on it.

Cestwick - Yes I received the notification in the mail months ago. But I forgot to mention it at my last oil change. And as usual the dealer never brings it up which is typical of all dealers (not just Hummer). Thanks anyway.

I'm pushing 13,000 miles right now and the only issues:

1) Rear Washer pump recall.
2) Cracked roof rails.

I'm so happy with my H3!

dumb question here- but how did your roof rails crack? and should i be concerned with mine doing the same?

They are cracking at a stress point where the a-pillar meets the roof rail that runs to the back. I would not worry about it happening as GM as already redesigned them and replacements should be at dealerships this month. If yours cracks, they will replace it with the new ones.

Is 5000 miles the break-in period for the I-5? Has anyone noticed any difference in power or smoothness after break-in?

At 3,500 I have not noticed anything but the H3 loaners I have gotted that have 10K and over seem like they have more power and better mileage. Of course being base models with 32s could have something to do with at least the mileage.

And possibly the feeling of power. Difference in rolling tire diameter is significant enough to impact acceleration/responsiveness.
