I have a 96 H1 and woke up yesterday morning with the front tires flat. i aired them up and when the quick disconnect valves are connected (front only), the tires will go flat after a period of time (usually about 4-6 hours). If the quick disconnect valves are disconnected, the tires don't delfate, but then the "tire low" light comes on when the beeping alert. I am trying to isolate my problem, is it a leak in the CTIS, problem with the guage...?? Has anyone had this problem? Thanks!!

Do both front tires deflate when the disconnects are disconnected?
A way to isolate your prblem is to inflate all tires to 40 or 50 pounds (this is from the book). Disconnect all valves and wait. This will tell you what tire(s) it is in. It does sound like it is in both fronts but that is a hint from the book.
From the sounds of your problem it is both the system and the tires. When the tires are disconnected the system can loose air but it shouldn't. The guage will read zero if there is a leak and the gauge should be ok at this point.

If the quick disconects are disconected from the system as you indicate, and the tires remain inflated it should be in a hose or other connection back to the compressor. The reason the " Low Tire" indicator activates is because there is no back pressure supplied from the tires back to the sensor when the quick disconects are un-hooked.
Reconnect the system back to stock, and inflate it to about 50 PSI.
Get yourself a spray bottle with a soapy water solution and start spraying all the front lines,connections, schrader valves ETC. When you see something bubble, you have found your leak .

ckhagman - both front tires deflate when the qick disconnects are CONNECTED. When the quick disconnects are DISconnected, they are fine. Thanks for the links, very helpful and much appreciated!

Check all lines and connections from front wheels to manifold at compressor. If no leak is found there remove geared hub vent lines and check for air escaping out of the geared hub, if it is leaking out the vent the ctis spindle seal in the steering arm cover is leaking. use soap and water in a spray bottle to inspect for leaks.
