Anyway to make the H2 faster off the line
Brand new to the forums and also to H2s, I've had mine for about a month and a half.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to speed a stock H2 up off the line. My H2 seems to have decent power when it is already going, but if I'm stopped and floor it, it's pretty slow until it reaches the half way through the first gear.
I understand this is one of the heaviest vehicles on the road (so heavy it's not required to list the MPG on the sticker), and also not looking to drag race but wanted to see if anyone knew of a way around it or if they have experienced the same problems

Another way to make your H2 feel faster off thhe line:
Buy an H3, put 35" tires on it, drive it for a week, and than jump in your H2! Faster?
Hypertech III
Volant with MAF sensore
CORSA SPORT EXHAUST
This will help a little if you don't want to SC!

Our vehicles are aerodynamically designed to go faster with a good tailwind.

That was our old truck. Here's a link for you:
http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_suv_500h2.htm
They've made some changes since then, but you get the idea.
If I did it again, I'd check with these two first and see what they could do:
HGW
HUMMERcustoms.com/TAZ
BTW, an SC with a proper tune would be fantastic.

Re: Anyway to make the H2 faster off the line
Hey!
I had my 2006 H2 installed with Supercharger (2.9" pulley), custom tune, little tranny upgrade, dual fans, 160 t-stat, Dynatech headers with WRC cats and exhaust.
I shortly tested it the other day and it said 5.7s 0-62 mph, I really sounds too good to be true and I plan to do some more runs, but it is really is a rocket (and loud). Actually there is way more power than I have courage to push it. I've heard that rear end won't be able to handle it all, so I really don't want to push it too far.
I think SC, tune and the exhaust did the job...
btw, I have 37" tires, so there is more meat the engine must move.
If I just have the time, I'll go out and do a vid for you.
This is the face I'm getting people driving Volvo T5 when they see my tail light off the lights

Re: Anyway to make the H2 faster off the line
Where the hell have you been, W1N?
I wouldn't worry about the rearend. Really, have you ever heard of one blowing on an H2? Even from wheeling hard? No, it should be fine.
Now, I would worry about those front tierods. Get the Fabtechs because a lot of stress is put on them while accelerating like that. Spinning tires that grab traction pop the rods all the time.

X2 on that. The 4x4 diesel trucks upgrade their tie rods and centerlinks for this reason. These guys boost to 700-800 lb/ft to race and everything else holds except the front steering.
Of course, they have the Allison behind their engine, but other than the tranny, we are pretty similar in components.
