Hummer Gremlins Argh! A/C Fan

What the hell is with these trucks an the damn gremlins. This afternoon I jump into the rig to go home. After about 15-20 minutes I noticed the A/C heater fan was blowing at top speed, even though the digital read out showed the fan speed set at 2 bars. So I fiddled with it and it wouldnt go up or down in speed, and if the gate changed from face to legs to winshield, that did nothing to change the speed either. I even shut the a/c control off and the fan still still would blow. So i get to my final destination, turn off the truck and the blower is still blowing. WTF!!
I had to pull the fuse just to get it to stop. Seems like thats all I do is pull fuses on this truck t make things that work badly stop working.
So now the blower fan isnt running but do you guys have ANY ideas what is going on?

Just to let you know, no it wasnt soaked or rained in or anything lately. Been working all week and it has been fine, then today after work....

Sounds to me like you need a blower resistor and maybe the connector if it shows any signs of high heat or melting

Where would the blower resistor be located and I assume you mean the connector at the blower itself and not the control panel?

Its under the dash on the right side. Right beside the blower motor. On those its actually caller a blower motor control module but but does the same job as a blower resistor like in other vehicles. You wont need the connector they only melted on the resistor equipped vehicles. If you get under there and hit it a few times with a screwdriver handle it may shut the blower motor off and that would verify it but im 100 percent confidant that's your issue

Do you happen to have a different or a cross referenced PN?
The one you gave me, I have been told, that it is on back order for a long time ?

Or maybe there is a way to hot wire it around the resistor?

Had my parts dept check today, no changeup number but part was available. Showed one in Regina SK. Where were you looking for part?

I asked GM parts direct and they said back order

I have a melted blower motor connector. It is the connector coming from the resistor to the motor itself. Any idea of what the connector id is? It says Delphi on it, but no other id on it. I would hate to replace a $300 resistor over a $10 connector.

I would find out why it is melted before you continue.

If you have already done so and fixed the issue...
Why not just direct wire the two together?
Or cut and wire in your own connector.

I am sure they dont sell just the connector.

Yes, I confirmed the issue. The fan drum was full of debris and I believe a stick or something was keeping the drum from spinning. It is now all clear and the fan spins fine now, but the plug is so melted I cannot get it in the fan connector anymore. The wire insulation melted off from the plug end up the wire 1/2 inch so it got extremely hot.

I'm certain they sell the plugs somewhere even if I have to go directo to Delphi or somewhere else to get it. It's the same plug used in a 2002 Corvette, Buick, Pontiac, and Chevy. Also the sealed version is used for the door lock actuator, so I know these plugs must exist somewhere, or else how else are these guys rebuilding these resistors?
