I have 'em. The airbag symbol is on the A-pillar though which seems odd....

I've got them as well... I believe that if you don't have them a grab handle is on the pillar instead... sometimes I wish I had those handles. My roof was getting pretty dirty from my hands needing something to grab on the drivers side... hence GOBI was called in to save the day.

No grab handles on either A-pillar; with or without air curtains.

I have them too and yes, included roll over sensor. Pretty much every unit my dealer had that was built after these came of restraint had them.

My guess is more about the target market than the cost for the option. Since the H3 is new and smaller than its predisessors, I feel they wanted to reach a new market by tossing this in as a perception of it being 'safer'.

Don't actually use them to mount and dismount the vehicle... but I have a habit of standing up on the door sills to get a better view when picking a line.

The reason for leaving the assist handles off is that when the air bags are deployed, they become projectiles and you could get hurt from them. That was why the air bags were late comming out.

We have them...used them as a justification to get a new vehicle as if we could resist getting the Hummer! Hope we never need them, but handy if needed. For some reason, they are about the least expensive add-on.
It was difficult finding an H3 with the combination of Base, Sun-roof and side air-bags without XM radio in Southern California. We didn't consider Yellow until we found one at our local dealer and then I realized that this one had our name on it, and now love the color.
We don't play "Where's Waldo" in the parking lots any more as I can usually spot "Poppy" when I step out of the store.
Best regards, Happy Jack
