Not weird at all , if you removed the factory radio you removed the soundpath for the chimes to work. you also lost headlight chimes , door chimes and other warnings that would use the chimes to notify you.

This is a real pain in the butt way to shut off that chime. It's a pain in the butt because you have to do this several times a day. But it works perfectly.
step 1.
put on your seatbelt.

step 2.
repeat step 1 every time you get in.

problem solved

True story - this weekend, a guy who was running an outdoor festival we played in Oklahoma had a bad car accident.

His wife was driving and for some reason he was in the back seat. They got run off the small dirt road they were driving on. I believe they were in a Ford midsize SUV... It rolled at least twice until laying to rest against a tree. The wife wore a seat belt and got rash from it as well as some nasty bruising (maybe airbags - I dunno)...
The guy in the back seat felt the ground against his shoudler and pushed away on it to prevent himself falling out of the vehicle... Somehow he stayed in... VERY LUCKY...
They were both treated with cuts and bruised and released...
Moral of the story - Wear your seat belt so you don't get grass stains on your shirt...

Ha ha ha...
That thing fish tailed like mad and then the rear end swung it out over the side of the road to cause the flip... The scary thing about the whole incident was that the guys who ran them off IN A FORD RANGER pick-up truck, was an old army buddy of the guy in the SUV...

I Just noticed that today. Strange there is no chime module under the dash. It comes from the radio speakers? Weird?

H2 came in rolled 4 times and rested on a huge tree on the north side of the Sandia mountians. Husband and wife walked away from the total loss with nothing. They had seatbelts on. Officer said they would have been ejected and probally killed.
