Okay, so you can't make Moab. 5000 mile round trip too much, your dog has a rhinoplasty scheduled, desert air gives you hives...
Whatever...
Can't make Moab, try Paragon!
I've got some ideas on dates that could work, although the first set may be too soon. Here goes:
April 7-9. Arrive Thursday April 6th, wheel Friday and Saturday, depart Sunday the 9th
April 21-23. Arrive Thursday April 20th, wheel Friday and Saturday, depart Sunday the 23th
May May 26-30. Arrive Thursday May 25th, wheel Friday, Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday, depart Tuesday the 30th
So far we have several interested folks:
NJ H2
Ipedog
Ric-H0
yat74
Oldhiker
Marinehawk
HummerLite
If people want to do the April 7-9 trip we need to get organized soon so please vote for what you would like to join in on.

I can't go during the April 7-9 dates because I have family in town. I'll try to make any other dates. Question: If I bring my wife and small son, are there any fun things they can do around there during trip if, as a I expect, they don't want to be banged around in the back of my H2 all day long?

I voted for the single May date. But that's just because we'll be in Moab.

MarineHawk - I'm not all that familiar with the area so other folk may have better info. Sorry.
There is the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. Mapquest says that it is about 80 miles from Paragon.
I doubt that my wife and son will be joining me for the April trip. They will be along for the Memorial Day trip. I do think we will be visiting the Crayola Factory at some point on that trip. Should be fun.
As for wife and kid bouncing about in the truck... Well, I have been trying to convince my wife that there is lots more to it than that. I also understand that the kids do seem to have a good time on these trips, although portable DVD and Kipper is a must.
I hope that this helps.

Don't be too surprised. My wife, 5 yo and 10 mo daughters go with me on every trip.
IMO, kids love it, especially if there are other kids there.

For the May trip I'd love to see as many kids as possible. My guess is that they would really add to the fun.

So far it looks like 5 trucks minimum for April 21-23 and 4 trucks minimum for the Memorial day trip. I know of at least one H3 that hasn't voted yet but will be with us for the Memorial Day weekend trip.
So, all things considered it looks like we are a go for these two weekends.
I'll wait a day or so to see if anyone else wants to join in and then start up a PM.

I talked to the boss, and i think I will be able to go on the April 21 trip. She and my little guy might be up for the May trip. Is anyone thinking about camping during all or part of either the April or May trip? I am itching to get out my Moon-Base tent again.

Tent + snow = no way </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
You can make it quite toasty with a good heater.
