AMG #5744719 I'm looking"can"t find"a Delco Number for this.I know looks bad but,sometimes
it just happens.

There is no correct GM part for the HUMMER. If your looking for the correct H1 starter I would get it from Paul at www.myhumvee.com
He has them for 250.00 which is a kick ass price, thats where I'm going to get mine from.

GM & Delco both have starters that will "work" in an H1, but they are not the sealed units like from AM General made by Leece Nevill.

If you install one of the lesser expensive GM/Delco starters on your truck, you will be limited to 16" of water fording vs. 30".

I have one of the GM/Delco starters in my truck (after a failure of the stock one at a very inconvenient location). So far it has done well, no issues with water or fording at all. And it's much smaller in size and MUCH lighter. It will actually fit through the undercarriage protection, which is a big bonus.
