i was wondering if everyones dvd player is the same. mine will only work with truck running or with the key in the on position. i thought it would work on accsessory.maybe it was hooked up wrong?

Your vehicle is equipped with Retained Accessory Power (RAP) which will allow certain features of your vehicle to continue working for up to 20 minutes after the ignition key is turned to LOCK.

Your radio, front wipers, sunroof, if equipped, and power windows will work when the ignition key is in ON or ACC. Once the key is turned from ON to LOCK, these features will continue to work for up to 20 minutes or until a door is opened.

i dont know if that answered anything, i copy pasted from the H3 Manual.

good info but if i want to get in the back seat to watch a dvd with the car off i would think all you should have to do is have the key on accsessery

Yes, leaving your key on accessory should allow you to sit back and watch a movie on the DVD.

If you take your key out of the ignition AND open your door to get out (to move back into the rear seats) the power will turn off. And since the RAP only runs for 20 minutes, you'd be best just to leave everything on accessory...just don't run the battery all the way down

I tried the dvd's for the first time last night and only turned the key one notch from lock, so I believe I had it on the accessory position.
The dvd played fine.
