Default Vin History advice

A buddy of mine is look at the hummer in question, but the vin info appear to be a little vague. It appears that the previous owners registered the truck and nothing else. Also, the gap in reported mileage got my attention. Take a look. Should he be concerned?

H2 2005 with 52,xxx miles
-----
1st 2004. Owner length of ownership 1yr 6mo. Last reported odo 8520miles

2nd 2006. Owner length of ownership 3yr 7mo. No mileage reported

-----
12/92004 8miles California Title issued

6/06/2006 no miles reported titled issued

6/13/2006 8520miles For Sale

7/17/206 no miles reported titled issued or updated New owner report

8/31/2007 no miles reported registration issued or renewed

10/30/2008 no miles reported registered issued renewed

Looks like a normal history to me. Not all states require mileage reporting when license renewal time comes around - mine is one of them. As for accident history on a CARFAX, a vehicle can have an accident and still not have it turn up on CARFAX. My daughter's Olds is a case in point, where she was sideswiped and two years later the repairs never showed up. You can't beat having a mechanic inspect it and looking it over very closely yourself.

I agree, you gotta dig and have a mechanic check it out. I once found a Porsche that was being sold by a lot with a questionable past. Car was perfect. but 7 years of it's history was missing. After finding a receipt for some work and contacting the shop, I found out the car sat in a barn for 7 years!

OK.. we just found it weird that no service or warrany work of any kind showed up. The truck is nice with the exception of the rust on the frame.
