Pros and Cons of levelling??
For you Guys that have levelled your rides. I understand some of the pros, larger tires, better looking. What about some cons? Does it increase wear on any parts? Does it affect ride quality and handling? By lifting the front does this affect the airflow over the truck and thus actual drop in MPG? Recommend levelling kits? Appreciate any info.

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
The ride quality is the same because it is the same "spring rates and Shocks" as non leveling. The front is a torsion bar setup which enables the height to be adjusted. I have had mine leveled for 2 or 3 years now and have not had any problems. I even did spacers in the back and cranked the front bars as much as I could. I would say if any one would have problems it would be me. If heigh an looks is what your after with out going 6 inches a leveling kit is the way to go. just my .02
Thanks
B

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
Not for me, Still Sucks. I have a heavy Foot and even heavier tires and rims. The comp says about 10 MPG where I think it is more like 12 to 14. Then again I dont think we bought these things for the great MPG.
thanks

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
Numb nuts, the request for information was on levelling, Pros and Cons, not on mpg. One con would be a decrease in mpg. The price of gas is not a problem for me. I don't need my heated seats as I live in Florida. Now go ahead and puke, or provide information as requested. I am still looking for recommendations on which is the best kit. The Cognito, or one of the other brands?

AWWW Someone Has thier panties all in a knot. Go grab your Murse, change your manpon, and I will send you a check for gas. Its ok, you need it more that me, or clearly, you would not have asked about MPGs "By lifting the front does this affect the airflow over the truck and thus actual drop in MPG? "
As far as a levelling kit, heard the cognito is pretty good.

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
Cognito looks good. Ta very much. From more research it looks like the larger tires affect the mpg, which is fine. Now about that check......:-)

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
lol glad to see we have the same twisted sense of humor I cranked my torsion bolts up til it was level then backed them off one full turn so the axles are at a good angle and had a wheel alignment done. working great for me

Re: Pros and Cons of levelling??
Absolutely. I am English (USC now) and sometimes my US friends just don't understand some of the things I come out with.
As for the levelling, I think I will go with the Cognito and the Bilstein shock upgrade. The info on their Website makes a lot of sense regarding the GM geometry. Thanks again.

Can I get in on that too? Not that I need it but hey, just like the stimulus, I definitely will take it.
