Just in case any of you wondered. You do NOT have to have covers on your aux lights unless they're on top of the roof.

nice job. i wonder how many other states have that law. a lot of the H1/2/3 owners have roof mounted lights. And I'm guessing that being well above 48", they would not be legal without the covers. Hmmmm, time for some homework.

Since the H3 has 2 fog lights, which are considered auxilary lamps, it seems that Rick's approach wouldn't work for us. Additional lights would still need to be covered and not wired into the high-beams, no??

I avoid the issue by never ever running my roof lights on regular roadways. Now when I get off the regular old paved road, look out!
