Default Please help. Buying a hummer h1 tomorrow

I'm buying. A hummer h1 tomorrow and the dealer just called me and told me that the compresser, tensioner, and belt need to be replaced for the ac. It's a 1999 wagon. He told me he will take 500 of the price because that's how much a new compressed, tensioner and belt will cost installed. Is this true? I don't want to get ripped off on my first h1. Thanks in andvance for your help

OEM A/C compressor alone is worth about $400, if not more. Then throw in labor to evac/recharge A/C and add on $75 more there. The belt can be cross referenced for $25 at most, and the tensioner can probably be had for $50 or less. If you have a dealer get parts it might run you more.

Make the dealer fix it and fix it right. Don't buy it with known flaws.
