Hungry Valley SVRA
(State Vehicular Recreation Area),
approximately 55 miles North of Los Angeles.
It's a great place for any owner to get a feel for their Hummer's capabilities. The photos above were taken there.

Well I was interested.
Wrong dates now (interesting your survey got no hits for the weekend you scheduled it).
Count me out.
I am going to go north that weekend. Hollister anyone?

Apologies BABHUMV,
the Instructor will not be available on the originally polled date of Jan. 7th & 8th. He is now committed to Jan. 21st & 22nd. Nonetheless, enjoy Hollister!

4x4training.com also runs "basic" clinic, also at Hungry Valley, also for Jan 7th & 8th, and also by instructor for marines. Difference? This one will cost you $225 total (versus $375)..
Imho, not sure you need to pay for anything. Hummers are just about the most capable point-and-go as any 4x4 out there.
Join a dealer-sponsored Hummer Happening. You'll learn a lot. Better yet, go and play and experiment with fellow Hummer owners/enthusists. Yes, Hungry Valley is a great place to practice since you can pick and choose from many, many trails of varying difficulties. But the trick is practice, practice, practice.

I have to agree, although the subject matter covered in this class is quite valuable and perhaps a little more prestigious.
I believe that at least one of these types of classes are highly recommended if you are just getting started in off roading.
Learning about how to negotiate an off camber situation does not have to result in body damage.
There are other clubs that hold trainings for as little as $55.00, although they are not "Hummer" specific.
This seems like an excellent class, but the price IMHO is a little high.
Look around....there is other training available if you don't mind hanging around with a few Jeeps!!

I wonder if they think because we are hummer drivers, Charging more is warranted?

Join any group to Moab out west, or Paragon in the east and you'll learn plenty. I guarantee it.
