Picture is a little misleading.... Final mount will not be that close..... Angle is such that we hope we bounce off rather than "deform"...

But we're anxious to see how they perform!!!

The tape protecting the paint is covering the door gap so it is miss leading there will be a good 1.5" clearence between the top edge of the slider and the door. These things are very well gusseted for strength so Ed will have to be doing some major thrashing on his ride to damage them. If he deforms this Rocker Panel protection. He will have more major damage than not being able to open his door.

Will the final product have end caps or will they be open through the center? It looks like they are open and than would colloect mud, sand, snow and everything else.
They look sturdy enough to where it would take some MAJOR bashing to knock them out of form.
how do they attach to the frame/ body?

These are work in progress pictures. Yes the ends will taper to meet with the plastic trim and will be closed. They attach at the frame to the original Factory rock tube mount holes. I did not want to attach to both body and frame then you get into alot of flex issuses. They will make contact with the body of the truck at the seam under the truck wear the Rocker panel is spot welded and will have rubber bump pads. This will limit any up travel of the RPP when the weight of the truck is resting on the RPP. There are large holes in the bottom of the panels for easy instalation of the upper mount holes and dranage/cleaning.

Shawn, looks really solid. The more pressing question: HOW MUCH? perhaps in a polished diamond plate finish?..

Sorry for the slow responce I was quailing a **** storm I stired up on Humvee.net. I will not be offering them in Diamond plate but if you want some polished Diamond plate accents I would have no problem with that.I have not settled on a final price. They are not going to be cheap though. There is alot more work and a whole bunch of parts that make up the panel you do not see. Like Gussets and ribs Mounting tabs and brackets. I will probably price them right in line with the RPP I offer for the H1. I feel they are a bargon at around $1,500.00

I guess from the uncomfortable silence that means you think the price is too high? Just consider how much 1 big scratch or the parking lot Dings it will save you from, and the money it would cost to repair. I would hate to see the car door of the careless person who opens their door to fast to close to you. Not to mention the rock rash they will prevent and the confidence they will add off road.

I would like to see some more pics. I like the look of them and a pic at a little distance with the whole truck in the picture would probably give the right perspective.

The pic does make them appear kinda big but I am wondering if that is just a product of the composition from the camera.

I had a Jeep Wrangler that had plastic moulding that was similar to this. It had steps laid in under each door and, Shawn, I wonder how it would be to cut out and weld in some step buckets on top under each door. Since it would be on top it shouldn't effect the protection and might would break up the lines better so that it doesn't appear as over obtrusive. Do you think it could be done?

Paragon
I want to thank you for realizing that these are in work pictures. I also want to say you are dead on about the steps. They were are already in the plan and will be offered as an option. I am cutting them into the slider and then boxing them in. These are taking a while to get right. I don’t want them to just be tuff I want them to look tuff too. I think all of the nay-sayers will be changing their tune when they see the finished product.
