oil pressure
Oil pressure gauge looks to be pegged at 80(normal is around 40). Had work done last week(resealed valve covers, engine knock sensor replaced), but just noticed the gauge. Anyone have any experience with high oil pressure or what could cause a high reading? My first thought is "shudder" a low engine block lock.

Is the guage stuck?? Does it drop when you shut it off?? That is my first thought maybe the guage just chit the bed. Other than that I do not have anything else.

Re: oil pressure
Same problem with my 2003 h2, always at 80 when running, back to zero when off. Just had oil and filter changed, (Royal purple 5w-30, mobil 1 filter), Should I change out the gauge, or some other part unknow? Thanks

Re: oil pressure
I'm guessing that the Sensor is unplugged or bad!
I don't know were it's located on the H2, But On my vette It's under the Manifold towards the the Back! They go Bad all the time and the gauge will read 80.

Re: oil pressure
It sounds like the oil pressure sender gone bad. It's in the back of the block behind the intake manifold. I steam cleaned my wire off and it went to 0 years ago.

Re: oil pressure
Sounds like Oil Pressure Sending Unit is out. Just had mine done it was like $85. Try turning the key on but do not start the vehicle(motor not running = no oil pressure) look to see if the guage goes up. If it moves at all it's a bad sensor.
