Here are a few videos showing what NOT to do.

I bet the weight of the H2 would help keep you out of these situations...

I couldn't view the 2nd video for some reason.

Anyway, on the first video, yes, SWB's are more prone to flip over backwards on steep climbs. That was a relatively gentle roll though, and chances are that Jeep was flipped back over and was not much worse for wear. Try that with a Hummer (or a Grand Cherokee, as to not discriminate).

Alot of TJ's run stickers on their windshields that are upside down and read "If you can read this, roll me over". I joke that Grands (and other SUV's) should have stickers that say "If you can read this, CALL MY INSURANCE COMPANY"

The 3rd video, it's called WATCHING YOUR SPOTTER. That was a clear case of driver error. The spotter was clearly directing him to the right, but the driver kept going straight. Wether he could see the spotter or not, it doesn't matter. If he couldn't see or hear his spotter, he should have stopped and stayed put until he got back into contact with the spotter.

I thought that it should have read:

I bet the weight of the H2 would help keep you from ever getting to anything that could cause this type of situation.

ROCKN'FJ:

What engine came with the Toyota? Is it a 4-banger? I only ask beacuse I always see Chevy 350 and 383 Stroker engines dropped in them. What's wrong with the Toyota engine - just underpowered?

It comes stock with a very heavy but torquey 6 cylinder. Smog controls after 1978 killed any power that they ever had and even fuel injection couldn't overcome the gaggle of hoses and other garbage that the feds spec'd. Just ask any Land Cruiser luxury wagon owner. It also costs more to rebuild the 6 than to purchase a rebuilt Chevy V8 engine or other GM take-out. The 6 actually has tons of low-end torque which works great offroad and the extra weight up front is killer on steep hillclimbs. But given the choice, I would never even entertain the thought of reverting back to a 6 cylinder. No way!
