Future Manheim H2 pricing, hitting rock bottom.
Keep in mind guys, this is just an estimateddealer whole sale prices & retail prices.
I have been looking to purchase an H2 for over a year now, and I am sure glad I have waited. The prices on the '03s have became very affordable, even today. I got to overlooking the estimated Manheim future pricing (whole sale) and this is what I found. Below is the estimated whole sale price for Sept 2009 for all models. Im not sure if its using this past years figures, with the massive drop in SUV/Truck prices, and its thinking the same will happen again next year or what. I figure I can wait another year, and can hopefully pick one up at under $10k. Just thought I would give everyone the heads up.

Wow, so in one year my $65K H2 will be worth around 20K. That's depressing. On the other hand, I guess I can look forward to adding a second H2 to the garage in a year at those prices.

Good thing I'm not selling mine then.
But at those prices I may have to buy some more of them.
Time for a garage E-X-P-A-N-S-I-O-N !!

We've been in the car business for about 35 years now and you cant really go by that. Too many different things go into the equation to estimate that far away. Maybe one killed with miles and ruff as a cob will be that cheap but thats about it. I looked at some before i bought my 05 SUT and they were either junk, salvage titles, or loaded with miles for 15K. i figured i would spend a little more money and get something with good miles that was loaded and real nice.

You know, if you take that equation and your rate of depreciation, in 13 years you can buy it for $1000.

You know, this is kinda cool. Now we can all buy a 2nd H2 to really wheel hardcore with....not have to worry about scratching it....

I did that with my first and only.
Maybe I can get one cheap to scrap for parts to fix up my beast!

Re: Future Manheim H2 pricing, hitting rock bottom.
So if I'm reading this right, a 2008 with average mileage is worth 42K this year, but in Oct. 2009 it's supposedly only going to be worth half of that figure?
No way.
2008 Model Current Average:
Auction: $39,100
Retail: $42,800
2008 Future Pricing:
Auction: $20,500
Retail: $22,600

Re: Future Manheim H2 pricing, hitting rock bottom.
You cant always go by those auctions things. We have been doing this for 20+ years and they are not always correct.
Yes the SUV market has taken a HUGE hit, But i doubt you be buying anything hummer for $10K in a year.
Keep in mind that those figures are also the average of vehicles sold. So if they only sale 2 one has a salvage title for $5K and the other is nice for $20K then they divide the amount = $12,500 is what they are worth... all auctuons are differnt but that usually how they get there numbers. Also if you have a rare car like a ZR1 vette, toyota supra, or a H1... you run out numbers of cars to get there prices. Meaning if they made 100 h1's in say 2000 then by the time "numbers" are worked, figureing 3 hummers a week are sold in clean, average, rough, 3H X 4 weeks, = 12 hummers a month X 12 months is 144, 2000 model h1 sold at a " auction " when they only made 100 trucks...
I dont see the market taking another big hit... But if they do then we can all get a beater!!
