Default Jeep Commander Nice!

Just took a ride in a Commander. Black no bling looked like Darth Vaders ride! Not sellin my H3 but it was sweet!

I drove a Jeep Commander when I first saw them on the lot. My original intention was, I am ashamed to admit, trade in the H2 for one. Fortunately, the test drive made me see the light, as even though things were laid out nicely on the inside, it was even more short on space than the H2, and it's fuel economy is in the same ballpark, give or take a couple miles per gallon. Besides, the Commander makes the H2 look aerodynamic. Not bad for a Jeep, though.

True. I took the Commander for a test drive before I started to get serious about wheeling. Since then, the only way I would trade in my H2 for a Commander, apart from the reasons stated previously, would be if I was sticking to the pavement and needed the passenger capacity. Though if that was the situation, there are a lot more vehicles I would select before the Commander. I still miss my Excursion.

I wheeled with one that was lifted and running 33's...It had no issues at all on a semi-moderate trail

Well here is the result of a brand new one on the trails I drive on weekends. Couple more runs and it will self adjust to the narrow trails.

I test drove the Commander, I really liked it, seats are comfy, the commader vision sun roof is awesome.... styling is unique and grows on you, liked the engine options... did not like the lack of room inside and espically disliked the lack of off road ability. Kept trying to convince the dealer that they needed to offer a off road option package, 33s, incresed travel shocks. would be a fine 4 wheeler then.

Well they did get one through (at least part of) the Rubicon. Although "rock rash" would be an understatement on how it fared.

I totally agree with you. I just like that pic of the Commander all busted up.

Funny video Manny.

There's a guy nearby that bought a Commander that I've met, and it's loaded. But he has declined numerous invititations to Paragon, and is afraid of even the smallest bit of mud. And for over $50,000, he wished he had gotten an H2. I couldn't agree more!

Reminds me of a local H1 owner I know. He is in the military, stationed at the base here. He owns a mid-90s H1 and he has it done up nicely, and got a nice "garrison green" paintjob, getting some of his buddies to paint it up in camo. The guy refuses to take it off the pavement. So paranoid. It just left me shaking my head.

My wife insisted on a new Jeep when it was time to trade in her Cherokee, she loves the Commander...seats for all the kids, she won't drive a minivan. A little too foo-foo for me, but it is damn comfy, keeps her out of the ditch in bad weather....and I LOVE the Hemi. Got it built with skid plates, but I don't know that it'll ever go off-roading. It tows the trailer full of dirtbikes & quads real smooth.
